If I wanted to back in,I would ignore this sign. They cannot legally tow your car away. A proper nose-in maneuver also requires a backup move to position the car for a straight-in entry to the space, especially if the space is too narrow.

Guess you’re not military or a vet. It’s called tactical parking so you can get out of Dodge in a hurry.

People backing out are looking for lit backup lights. Since you people who love to back in never ever turn your lights on before you move forward, we can’t tell that you are about to move forward.
Clue: turn your lights on before you move.

Makes sense when the lot is striped for angled parking.

Sorry it aggravates you but I do it for safety reasons. It is extremely common and scary to see pedestrians who suddenly appear from behind a car or truck parked next to you just as you are beginning to back out, particularly if they are excited kids or if they are pushing a cart in front of them.

BTW, I back in almost always and am good at it, one and done, even though I am a woman. You shouldn’t hold up traffic if you can’t do it but if you can do it the delay isn’t more than a few seconds longer than a front-in park.

So they can pop a wheelie when they are leaving.

I hate you people who try to drive im without taking the extra time to position your car. You always wimd up angling in and taking up more space than you need so you have enoigh on the driver side. Then you make it a lot more difficult for the car on either side to get back in their car, or to easily exit when backing out.

You're the less considerate and poorer operator than the driver who has to make at least one backup move whether nosing in or backing in. In fact, your sloppy parking may force the next parker to back in just to use his/her space without dining you car.

Stay home and use Amazon for your shopping.

Did any of the teachers or principles in all of the schools you ever attended remind you that schools are not a democracies.

I guess he’s never had a driver safety course that teaches it’s safer to back into an empty parking space than an active traffic aisle.

Backing in and pulling out is much safer.

a bunch of us like to park backwards during the day when we arrived on site, so that when we leave at night in the dark we can see any pedestrians or other issues on our way out.

Today’s modern cars suck regarding visibility problems.

Tiny little windows, huge headrests, large C-pillars, etc.

My mustang sits on the ground. Difficult to see out the rear. Any vehicle bigger than mine that is next to mine makes for a dicey backup. Therefore I always back in .

For me it is not more difficult at all to back into a parking space. In some tight situations it’s actually easier than pulling in forward. When leaving, it’s much easier and quicker. Visibility is much better pulling forward out of a parking space than it is when backing out so I don’t have to worry about an unseen vehicle or pedestrian unexpectedly crossing my path while backing out (not really a problem when backing in).

Agreed. In some areas it’s illegal. Not only does it take forever but it is dangerous because it’s hard to see what you’re doing and there are usually cars on both sides.

I unwittingly made some guy wish he hadn’t tried to do it though recently. We were in a parking structure looking for a spot. He was in front of me. First spot on the right at the end of the row. It was a little tight for his truck so he turned left to go to the next level or so I thought. In fact he was just maneuvering to back into the spot. Not realizing that though I took the spot. He was pretty steamed.
