For the last month, Lori Loughlin has grappled with the charges against her in the high-profile college admissions cheating scandal, a source close to the actress tells PEOPLE. “It’s just taking some time for it to sink in that what she was allegedly doing could be considered illegal,” says the source. “To her, it wasn’t egregious behavior. Was it entitled and perhaps selfish? Perhaps. But she didn’t see it as being a legal violation.”

The arrogance of these people is astonishing. I hope the Judge throws the book at her. Maybe, just maybe, the rest of those Hollywood idiots will pay attention.

There’s no way this woman didn’t know that what she was doing is illegal. I simply cannot believe that one of her lawyers, accountants, agents, or handlers didn’t say “Let’s think about this for a minute.”

She wants us to believe that she sat at her kitchen table, opened up her checkbook, and wrote a $500,000 payment to this “foundation” out of the goodness of her warm little heart having absolutely no idea that this was, shall we say, highly irregular.
Not one person asked her “Ummm, what’s this half a mil for?”
If you swallow that line of BS I’ve got some land in Florida I’d like to discuss with you.

So she wants people to think that she did it for her kids, which a lot of parents might relate to. One difference though - her kids didn’t need it - Oliva was making a BOATLOAD OF MONEY, before she even showed up for college. Her older girl likely would have been fine too - plenty of rich guys to snatch both of them up, not to mention she could work for Olivia and do just fine. Beyond that, the parents were loaded, which the girls were going to get.
But very few of the “Any Mom” bunch are that well off - and for them, most parents, getting a kid into a decent college means the difference between having a nice retirement, or having to finance a basket case for the rest of their lives. This was not a problem for Olivia’s parents, not even close.
Lori, baby, here has NO CLUE regarding the though process of “Any Mom” because she is not “Any Mom”.

I’m sorry, but you aren’t going to say all moms will violate rules to put your kids into USC! You are such a liberal and you thinks rules don’t apply to you.
Honestly, what’s all the hubbub about this? People have been buying their kids’ way into elite colleges for well over a century. Before you simply walked up to the university president and stroked him a big check. What’s the difference here? So they got some coaches or tutors to rig test scores or claim musical or athletic accomplishments for their kids that were pure fiction? Pshaw! That’s been going on forever.
That is ridiculous.
Life is not black, white or brown and her behavior says something about the range of behaviors of the human race but nothing about “white people”, just as the acts done by one black or brown person say about being black or brown.
I have to agree. The behavior is wrong because money shouldn’t buy entry into colleges but it has for decades. It says something about the arrogance & materialism of these parents but plenty of parents have helped the colleges see past a small scandal or less than stellar academic record for less self centered motives as well.
I think the full weight should be on the bribe takers who allowed this to become SOP.
As often posted here, the issue was that she and her husband do not have the kind of cash needed to make a donation large enough to get their kid into school. $500,000 is a nice gift but doesn’t turn any heads when others are paying millions to build whole schools on campus. They COULD afford to bribe an administrator, hire a cutout to take entrance exams, or fake the kid’s way onto a sports team.
This mom wouldn’t have.
She just keeps running her mouth and losing fans. Dumb daughter is a chip off dumb mom’s block.
Well they will now reap the whirlwind.

If people have been cheating the system for decades and they have, what does it say about America’s higher education? Teachers never teach to the smartest in the class. college is a waste of time and money. Buying a degree is a smart idea is you can afford it.
