NEW YORK (AP) — The Rolling Stones are postponing their latest tour so Mick Jagger can receive medical treatment.

The band announced Saturday that Jagger was told by doctors “he cannot go on tour at this time.” The band added that Jagger “is expected to make a complete recovery so that he can get back on stage as soon as possible.”

No more details about 75-year-old Jagger’s condition were provided.

The Stones’ No Filter Tour was expected to start April 20 in Miami. Other stops included Jacksonville, Florida; Houston; the New Orleans Jazz Festival; Pasadena and Santa Clara in California; Seattle; Denver; Washington, D.C.; Philadelphia; Foxborough, Massachusetts; East Rutherford, New Jersey; Chicago; and Ontario, Canada.

Now, I’d like to speak about the subject of a certain Mick Jagger – of the Rolling Stones. … And I’m going to talk about the song he sang — a song in which he sings these very words: “Black girls – just want to have sex – all night long.” …

Now, Mr. Jagger, there is only one question I want to ask you — Jaggs. … And you better have the answer, man, you better have the answer, since you have besmirched the character of black women. Therefore, here is my question, Jaggs.

[pleading] Where are all of these black broads, man? … Hey, like, where ARE they, baby? You got any phone numbers for me, baby? …Please send ’em to me. [puts glasses back on, dignified again] Thank you. …

I never liked them. Maybe a song here and there but nothing more. They just sound like garbage to me. Why do people think they’re good?? Certainly can’t sing, what else can they supposedly do?

The thing that the Stones taught me was that there can be beauty in discordance and ugliness.

“I never liked them. “

Huh?

They’re a great little bar band.

I saw Keith for an entire show of The New Barbarians in about 1981 from about 15’ away. We were right on the wall in the days of “festival seating” (no seats on the floor).

He looked like death warmed over THEN!

Saw the Stones in about 1975 touring behind the It’s Only Rock’N’Roll album. Great show.

Some Girls was a great album!

But it reminds my demented mind of another song:

That’s Gilda Radner as Candy Slice, which was SNL’s send up of Patti Smith. Funny stuff, back when SNL still did funny. THOSE days are long gone!

If you think that song is promoting the devil, you obviously didnt understand it. It makes heavy use of irony & sarcasm.
Its message is that evil presents itself as glamor, wealth, taste & sophistication. People are drawn to evil because they’re fooled by it.
It’s saying wake up, look beneath the surface, recognize it for what it is.

Good analogy/analysis of what the song is about.

I feel their pain. At my funeral, I wanted
them to play “How Great Thou Art,” until I
found out the song isn’t about me.
