A woman died from her injuries after her own two dogs mauled her outside an animal hospital in Irving Saturday morning, police say.
Police shot and killed the dogs when they arrived because the pets would not allow authorities to come close to the owner, police say.

I can’t seem to fathom dog ownership.
I’ve had dogs. I love dogs. I love all animals. I don’t think people need to have one for no damned reason.
I just moved into my first suburban neighborhood in about 15 years. All I hear.. all day long ... And night ... are dogs barking.
It’s incessant. They are outside. And this little one next door is pushing the fence off the nails trying to get over here and attack my daughter.
Most dogs.. and yes.. Most ... Are just violent little demons. Even the neutral ones just jump on you and bark at you. I can’t figure the benefit of ownership.
I have had cats. They are a bit more integrated into the human society thing. They aren’t psychos. Well, they are if they are abused and I would say a huge percentage of them are abused.
I would also say a huge percentage of dogs are abused too. They are taken into homes that can’t provide the things they need. Attention, proper diet, exercise, etc.
If people owned horses like they do dogs, the dogs would be actively taken from them.
One of our cats we rescued when, as a tiny kitten, she wandered into our yard and never left. I didn't want to steal someone's kitten but she would sleep on our deck, drink water from puddles in our yard, and eat the mice and moles in the neighborhood. She never left our property. I took her in and she basically bonded only to me.
She is the only one of our cats that seems to shed the outer layer of her claws and I have never had to trim them.
She is now laying on my desk right next to my keyboard, snoring.
I have a runt that would try it at 30 pounds. He would love on me one day then eat me the next. Cats are odd. Dogs are a bit more loyal to the pact. The pact includes all the people and the moody cats. When I had pigs it included them if I included them. The goats and chickens were included. They would try to put the chickens back into the coop even if the stupid chickens died of stress during the process.
Btw - Chickens are stupid. Pigs are very smart.
“The mother of two young kids.” You have two pit bulls with two young kids. And they’d already bitten someone, that’s why they were at the animal hospital, being quarantined. She apparently was planning on keeping them if she visited them every day. Smh...what is wrong with some people?
I don’t think they know how it actually happened yet, as the owner took both of them out of the building and was walking them in an area enclosed by a tall fence when they attacked her and had her on the ground. There evidently were no witnesses to the incident. She was discovered after the attack. The dogs wouldn’t let anyone near her to help her. She was found unconscious, according to the broadcast reporter.

Apparently there is a mod who’s tired of the dog kills people fixation you and norski and a few others have
I noticed the Rottweiler kills thread had the usual folks sayin Rotts are evil too like “oh Lordy they are so scary...why I saw the Omen in the 70s and well you know what happened there...”
But oddly on the German Shepherd kills thread we had folks saying protesting that it’s not the dogs fault .....by the golly the owner did it....or they must have been “feral”
Maybe those posters should examine Eastern Europe where Alsatians are more plentiful than here on attack stats

She just wouldn’t listen.
The man and woman in question were at least 85 years old not able to defend themselves against a much and younger cat.
Shar Pei -— had a pair of patients almost maul both owners to death at their home years ago. Never could figure out what set them off.

I would kick such an attacking cat so hard that it would have half of its ribs cracked.

The guy was middle aged at worse. I remember the pictures. And the articles. There were many.

Besides our cat, we’ve been feeding 2 strays for years and I built a little cat shelter on the back porch with blankets in there.
Many people still think of cats as no personality or completely independent and aloof.
My cat’s none of those. To say the least :)
I was talking to the post about a family that had to call for help because their cat went nuts on them.
