Best All-in-One Printers 2019
Tom's Guide ^ | March 12, 2019 | Brian Westover

We spent more than 150 hours on in-depth testing to identify the top inkjet and laser printers you can buy. And our favorite overall printer is the Canon Pixma TS9120, which offers best-in-class print speeds and high-quality output for both text and graphics. For a printer that won't break the bank, Epson's WorkForce WF-2760 inkjet packs in features like an automatic document feeder and duplexing, while also turning in fast print and copy times.

What All-in-One Printers Cost All-in-one printers sell for as little as $60 (£45/AU$90) for inkjet models, and $150 (£170/AU$200) for laser printers, with high-end models ranging up to the hundreds of dollars, but offering better print quality, durability and features. And don’t forget ink and toner, which can range from 1 to 5 cents per page.

Three years ago, I pushed for our churh to switch from a laser printer where the toner cartridges cost us about $100 each and we used 3 o4 four per year.

I got them to buy a Epson ET-4500 because it used liquid ink which only cost about $9 per bottle ($36 for complete refill of b/w and all colors). Bottom line we recovered the cost of the printer in just over a year in savings on ink and we bot beutiful full color.

I was so impressed I bought the same model for use at home. I waited and got mine for a bit over $200 but grabbed a $60 rebate from Epsom. Wonderful and I no longer have problems of the cartridge ink drying if you go too long without printing.

Check out this series. The upfront cost is about double or a bit more over the basic printer but if you print any amount you will recover your extra outlay quickly and then be off to the races.

What bugs me most is power transformer bricks. Why can’t they standardize?

I absolutely love my Brother HL2280DW. It’s a black and white all in one laser. A single cartridge will print about 1500-2000 pages. $99 on Amazon.

I spend an hour in an OfficeMax with a friend who wanted to buy the same printer he had 4 years ago. I was trying to explain to him that technology evolves over time. But he wanted all of his printers to use the same toner and I finally convinced him that just doesn’t happen.

I don’t print a lot and got sick of my ink constantly dries out.

I threw my current printer to the curb and bought a multifunction laser.

“So you’d use about half the Epson ink cartridges performing head cleaning to unclog the ink jets. A very expensive proposition.”

That is exactly what ended my home printing adventures. Thought about getting a laser printer but have never been able to get past the research phase.

One black-and-white laser toner cartridge will last for years and won’t dry out like an ink jet cartridge. If I want to print a photo, I send it to Walgreens or Walmart and pick it up. My cost per page is almost nothing. Do you really need a photo printer? If not, Get the laser.

I am a big fan of Brother printers. I can’t see buying another brand. My current one, model MFC-9340CDW, has been running rock solid since 2013.

“I had the epiphany that I never print in color.”

My epiphany too. Plus we have a color printer at work.

There are no “best” inkjet printers. All of them, or at least the five brands I have owned over the years, last about a year give </i>or take</i> a couple of months. I can’t say they are programmed to die because they all expire of different diseases but expire they do.

I either refill the cartridges myself or get them from ebay. You can buy the ink by the bottle.

Actually I can’t say that for Brother. My Brother inkjet never started to work. I got it replaced through Customer Service and the replacement didn’t work for a different reason. I raged on the phone with them until they gave me my money back and I shipped both back to Brother on their dime. I now get my printing done at a shop in town.

Brother L8900 here. Runs like a top.

Last HP rejected third-party ink, then reject HP brand ink! Never again.

and I’m still going on the original ink cartridge after three years.

Most lasers use toner. None use ink.

I’m just a casual user and I just buy the cheapest Ink Jet printer Walmart has. Buy a new one when ink runs out. I’m a Walmart kinda guy.

I have a Brother HL-2300D, currently selling for as low as 80 bucks. I got mine as a cyber Monday deal for 50 with free shipping 2 years ago.

It has adequate print quality for most uses, and it’s been flawless. My biggest gripe has been that paper jams are a pain to clear, but they have only happened when I forget to remove the stuff piled on top of the printer.
