Men don’t hit ladies. A woman who demands to fight a man has lost her status of “lady”.
For example, if I was ever physically attacked by a group of inner-city ferals, I would respond about the same, regardless of their sex or sexual identity. To do otherwise might mean my serious injury.
That may be the cases in training scenarios. Actual war is different.
In actual war, the side which has the most people able to do the most difficult challenges, is more likely to win. The side which is unable to match or beat their opponents' capabilities, will die.
There’s a scene in an episode of “The 100” where a skinny chick who just learned to handle a sword takes out 20 battle hardened males in less than 2 minutes. Now that’s absurd!
You are 100% correct. I am not talking about war, I am only talking about how they would devise resources needed for a task, and training people in that task, which would translate into a wartime portion of a mission.
We all know that once a fist hits you in the face, all the planning goes out the door.
How the scenarios translate (This is just my opinion) is that if, in a combat situation, you need to pour 60 rounds per hour. from a gun that has to be fed by a single soldier hand carrying munitions over 20 yards of terrain at the rate of one per minute, but the person on that crew carrying can only do only do 1 round every two minutes and tires out completely and is unable to perform after 10 min at half the rate, a fire support mission is going to fail, and the soldiers on the other end depending on it may fail as well, resulting in injury, death, loss of engagement, battle, and war.
And that doesn’t even take into account ALL the other things outside of task above, hand to hand combat, or anything else with a high dependence on physical exertion.

True, good point, but I am not sure about 40%...when I made the curve, I used the medically accepted information in black as assumptions laid out, but the actual amplitude and width of the curves might be different.
I just used the bell shaped curve for men, then added the assumption that the width of the curve for women’s strength is going to be narrower simply due to biology...that is it won’t be the same shape as the mens curve, since most men have the advantage of testosterone to give us strength, where women will only be able to achieve a similar distribution if they all worked out extensively...which they won’t, since guys don’t either.
I guess the point is, the areas under the curve that you might have used to get 40% might just be invalidated by taking things even beyond my final assumption (one assumption too far...but your point about the additional area is correct!)
My greater concern is for the man who did the punching and the men who egged them on. I can’t think of anything much more that destroys the best in a man. I hate what our military has become.
It has become a place where delusional women are convinced that they can run with the big dogs, and then get upset when reality destroys their fantasy. Don't blame the man who introduced her to reality. He may have saved her life. She'll proceed through her military career with a more realistic understanding of her capabilities. OTOH, he refrained from killing her. He also refrained from capturing her, torturing her, raping her, and having all his buddies rape her. I mention that last, because the current enemy are mohammedans and they do that sort of thing.
I wonder: do you know why we have an Army (etc.)? Do you know what their function is?
Liberals always treat the military as the largest Government Social Program there is.
This boxing match thing was humane. They should show this to any Congress-idiot that thinks a front-line infantry unit should be female.
All this guy did was bang her head around a little. An enemy combatant is going to do so much worse. They will be morale gear, and so much worse.
So stupid. I think women have a place in the combat military. Front line isn’t that place. Sniper, pilot, even tanker.
I suspect the basis of her challenge was decent success getting nasty in bars with civilian males most or all of whom probably wouldn’t want anything to do with her. In the ring she was too incompetent not to say helpless to have based her big mouth talk on actual combat with a willing guy.

For pilot, a woman may be able to do the job, right up to the point where she gets shot down and has to perform "escape and evasion".
For sniper, the Russians were able to use women as snipers in defensive positions back in WW2. If she needs to infiltrate enemy areas, carrying all her gear, that's a whole different story.
For tanker, she might be able to drive it, but will be totally useless the moment field maintenance is needed on some heavy component. How many women have the strength to even change their own car's tires, including loosening the lug nuts? A woman would be challenged in working as loader, as tank rounds weigh close to 50 pounds, and she needs to be able to quickly grab one from the magazine and load it into the breach. How many women could keep up with doing that in battle?

Hmm. You’re right. Googling whup, though, it is defined as utterly defeating somebody.
Several posters have stated that it was wrong for a man to do this.
How about we do a little of “read between the lines”?
First, this fight could not have taken place without the expressed permission of the CO. That’s important because the CO would understand the PR downsides of having this fight and would not allowed it frivolously.
So, I’m betting we have a loud mouthed and entitled “feminist”. Probably not well liked by most of the personnel, male or female.
Likely she pushed this to the point by loud mouthing and badgering until so many got sick of her, the CO was OK to sign off on it.
It also may have been considered a “teaching moment” regarding this leftist BS that women are physically as capable as men on the battlefield. That’s not a little thing - lives are at stake.
My point is that this didn’t occur in a vacuum. There’s much more to the background that we will not get.
