You don’t know that. No one does. They could have fumbled the next play. Or the Rams could have let them score a TD, getting the ball back, and scoring themselves.
The only thing we DO know is that the Saints threw an interception in OT, which did more to cost them the game. I do think the non-DPI call WAS missed but the Rams still had a timeout and stranger things have happened.
Wasn’t it the Saints who lost to Minnesota on a freak play in the playoffs a couple of years ago? Every team in the league can make a case for a Super Bowl they’d no doubt win but for supposed bad calls. It is what makes sports sports.
