House Budget Chair Yarmuth: I Don’t Think a Wall Is Immoral – Pelosi ‘Willing to Negotiate’

On Saturday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “America’s News HQ,” House Budget Committee Chairman John Yarmuth (D-KY) said House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) is “willing to negotiate.” Yarmuth also differed with Pelosi’s argument that a wall is immoral. Host Leland Vittert asked, “[T]he positions of the White House may be a little bit all over the place, but Nancy Pelosi says not one dollar for the wall, and calls a wall immoral. So, if you’ve got leadership saying something’s immoral, how’s that negotiating in good faith?” Yarmuth said, “Well, she’s willing to negotiate. You don’t negotiate in the media. You take your position.” Yarmuth also addressed Pelosi’s characterization of the wall as immoral by stating, “I don’t know that an inanimate object can be immoral, so I probably would differ on that characterization.”

The LRAD is a high-volume-level disabling device that has been used in covert operations for a few decades. I don't think it has been noted to cause any permanent damage to bodily tissue if used appropiately.

As a border control device it's effectiveness might be limited. For one thing, it is a focused beam device, meaning it is best used with operator manipulation against relatively small close-knit groups. In automated wide field applications one would have to consider the effect on cattle and wildlife.

I often wondered if it might not be effective in urban warfare, like Faluga, Iraq. As far as I know, never used that way.

Before all of this I already had a low impression of the Red Cross. 2008 ice storm here in central MA they didn’t help us one damn bit.

My FIL was on the disaster relief team for his denomination. He said the same thing about that organization. Present but no help at all.
