I have no answers, but I’d like to point out that this does not look like any date I’ve ever seen. Why use periods?
Some countries tend to use periods in dates. It is slightly easier to distinguish the numbers with the . separating them vs the dash.
I use periods in dates all the time. I also use them in phone numbers. I’m not exactly sure when I started doing that but very long ago. I don’t remember exactly why either, but it might have had something to do with computer storage at the time. “/” or “-” may have been reserved characters which I needed to avoid in certain circumstances.
Anyway, I like the look of periods and have been using them for a long, long time.
