And I thought VERY telling was the mention of one heck of an enlargement of a school K-12. How about them apples?

So that says to me that an expansion of service member numbers is in the works, including families? Is that possible or am I reading that all wrong. Was there any mention of expanded housing?

Not any real pointed reference to housing, but there’s this from the article:

“The biggest ticket item for the U.S. Navy base in Cuba in the so-called Omnibus Spending law is $115 million for a new 848-troop barracks across the street from the McDonald’s and commissary to consolidate enlisted prison staff under one roof.”

The K-12 school is a $66 million project. Now that’s a lot of jack! I was intimately involved with new school projects over ten years ago back home in Ohio, and I don’t think the entire budget for the district was over $50 million then. This encompassed many new schools and renovations to two. But that was a while ago, and materials/logistics didn’t have an island to deal with.

Still a lot of money.
