I prefer my grits with lots of butter and salt, sometimes with cheese.

Butter is natural, better than man made garbage. Luckily I have no problems with salt and well, iodine!

So it’s still healthy! :)

P.S. best German sausage: Weisswurst. Veal. Oh yeah!

OK - now we are heading into serious food porn territory.... cheese grits is WONDERFUL!!!! Never thought of the German sausage with it..... that would be excellent. A family member makes cheese grits for family gatherings. That right there is reason enough to go!

“”” ....cheese grits is WONDERFUL!!!!”””

Have some left over? Season them with some heat to your taste, maybe add a tad more salt, spread them about 1/4” thick or thinner onto a sheet pan, put them in the fridge.

Once set, slice them up and fry them crispy.

I’ll be listening for the YUM!

If you ever tasted my Shrimp grits you'd never want them any other way.

I make the grits with homemade shrimp stock. The shrimps get cooked in butter on high heat so the butter is slightly browned with the shrimps and garlic.
