House bill passed (today?)

A year ago I would have been happy to see this. Science! Now I’m not sure. Lots of money and lots of opportunity for abuse of the tech.

Anyone else care to weigh in?

I am in favor of the federal government spending some money on basic science. This would be in areas where the potential financial returns are too iffy and too far in the future to motivate corporate investments.

In this case—quantum computing—there is thought to be an important national security angle as well. By the time we know for sure, it could be too late.

The whole argument that derailed the space program was outrageous: that unless everyone was economically equal, the money for space research was not justified.

This is pure communist (RAT) claptrap.

I am still steamed about the cancellation of the superconducting super collider in 1993. Miles of tunnels were already built in Texas ... Instead the globalist politicians turned the frontiers of high energy physics over to CERN.

Puke.

POTUS is trying to rectify all this. If I were 18 again, I would sign up today for the United States Space Force.
