'You Stole a Point from Me, You're a Thief Too': Serena Williams Breaks Down as She Argues [Trunc]

Serena Williams came to blows with the umpire in the U.S. Open's Women's final as she accused him of 'stealing a point from her'.

Umpire Carlos Ramos issued a game penalty to the U.S star during her game against Japan's Naomi Osaka because the umpire accused her of getting coaching from the side lines.

The 23-time Grand Slam winner screamed at Ramos: 'Every time I play here, I have problems. I did not have coaching, I don't cheat. You need to make an announcement. I have a daughter and I stand for what's right. You owe me an apology.'

'For you to attack my character is wrong. You owe me an apology. You will never be on a court with me as long as you live. You are the liar. You owe me an apology. Say it. Say you're sorry.

'How dare you insinuate that I was cheating? You stole a point from me. You're a thief too. '

Moments later Williams crashed out of the final with Osaka winning 6-2, 6-4.

“””but was up 3-1 in the second, looking like she was about to bring it to a tie for the 3rd and final set... and that’s when this started.”””

No, it started when Williams lost her serve to make it 3 all. She smashed her racquet and got a warning.

Yep, the only person that stole anything is Serena when she stole Osaka’s great moment.

“””Makes you wonder where it ever got the rep of being an upper-crust sport.””””

Because it’s a game of honor. You call your own lines when playing in a match without any umpires.

Her coach admitted to doing it... what nonsense.

She had bad court manners when she was a 14 year old. Now, she is just past her prime, and the younger players are too hard to beat.

She should consider exiting gracefully.

Older athletes always get knocked off by younger ones. Serena is having to face her time is over.

Somebody give her a “participation trophy” and shut her up.

And Katrina Adams, the FIRST African American president and CEO of the USTA (the director of making sure Venus and Serena get the best draws in the business) clearly states in the US open trophy prentation that “even though WE did it get the outcome we wanted” ......NEEDS TO RESIGN IMMEDIATLEY.

Serena is news because she came out strongly in favor of Kaepernick and the NFL take-a-knee protests. She was using her stature as a super star of tennis to push this social justice warrior garbage.

Now the very lady-like Christian Margaret Court still holds the record of slam wins that Serena was supposed to tie today. Operating at loiter speed, Osaka pulled off the upset win and spoiled the further coronation of “Queen Serena”.

She is not and has never been mentally tough. She has historically enjoyed a shaq-like physical advantage and should have one many more grand slams than she did.

Yes, she has a very unstellar career and magically heads the USTA.
I've mentioned it before, don't expect anything from the USTA if you're a talented kid with a pale complexion.

Serena's billionaire husband must be so proud to have married such a classy gal. When all is going well, personally I think her soft-spoken, laid back attitude in interviews is all a facade.

Have followed tennis for over 50 years. Saw all the greats from Don Bugde, Pancho Gonzales, to Rod Laver to Roger Federer.

Clearly, the ref was out of line and may have cost Serena the match, although she wasn’t playing all that well. That ref should be “retired” from big time tennis. He was wrong right from the beginning.
