The singer had an incredible voice, I’m surprised they weren’t more successful instead of a one hit wonder.

This is what they were really known for, Joey was later. I saw them in concert about 35 years ago, and the whole night everyone kept yelling “Hollywood”

This is still in my rotation I play as I work.

fantastic song - my favorite for a long time. She nailed it - the girl in love with an alcoholic

One hit wonder? This song was a hit, and the album is a favorite of mine to this day.

“Joey” was the first Concrete Blonde song I ever heard. Loved it instantly. My all-time favorite of theirs, though, is “I Want You,” which was featured in the movie Point Break and is on the soundtrack. Great song, great band.

They did an awesome version of “Everybody Knows” that is on the Pump Up the Volume soundtrack. Some of their stuff just gave me goosebumps, and not particularly in a good way: “Caroline” and “Tomorrow, Wendy” come to mind. So dark.

Just recently I bought their version of “Ghost Rider in the Sky.” Pretty darn good!

Thanks for the flashback!!!
