I wonder if that definition is widely adopted. I always took "Q" and "QAnon" as synonymous. I think of the posters at /qresearch/ as plain "anon," and they refer to each other as "fags."
There is no confusion in the context of your post, you define and explain how you take those labels. IOW, I don't object to your defintions in the least. I just wonder what other groups in the public think those labels represent.

I have no information based speculation. If it was an actual person, then I would suspect it was a prisoner, perhaps a soldier. No evidence to base that on, just a hunch.
I think that is very much a wait and see before believing. If true, I doubt it would ever get out because of the damage it might do to relationships.

Generally no, but sometimes yes on a case-by-case basis.
The institution protects leakers by allowing the reporter to shield them from everybody. There are plenty of cases of reporters getting away with making things up out of whole cloth, so one would think that at least usually, the bosses are ignorant of the non-existence of the sources. Typically a sob-story with made up victim. See the movie "Meet John Doe."
Q seems nervous. He/They/She sent two more drops to basically set the table.
The case is about to be laid out. The evidence better be damning. The new posts are essentially saying the last 20 years of US rule has been a plot to destroy the US through a slow bleed.
Based on Q posts 1807 the spiderweb images of the multiple levels of communication between the fbi and the media, post 1808 listing the WikiLeaks info of reporters that were collaborating with the Hillary campaign, and the recent white house meeting with Trump and the NY times

I quibble with your distinction between Q and QAnon. I think that most of us regard those as two names for the same person/group. I think that what you are calling QAnon is what most of us are just calling the anons or autists.
As for FR, I think we have MANY important features for discussing Q:
1. much tamer, vulgarity free (for the most part). I would have said “family friendly” but there are a few very serious topics that we’ve been discussing here that cannot be considered family friendly due to their disturbing nature.
2. More friendly to newbies. This is one huge reason I think we need to make great efforts to welcome newbies and be careful with our accusations of “troll”. Real trolls will become obvious eventually. Most newbies are going to be overwhelmed, dazed, confused by the stunning revelations of Q. Questioning the truth of Q is “normal” on first exposure. Let’s do our best to be kind.
3. Easier to navigate. or maybe I’m just more accustomed to it.? 8ch can be difficult to navigate, especially from board to board.

Actually, I'm not at all surprised to read that.
...and turning “history” on its head is only a part of the project the DS/left launched (JMHO) in the late 70's to try to entice 'Nam vets back to voting for their favored political candidates.
Not to mention (said the cynical old ex-sailor) rebuilding trust with all of those nasty "babyburners" who had just happened to have begun to hit their peak earning years.
I use my handle because of [BLEEP] like that along with many, many other things; most didn't directly affect me but destroyed/killed enough that I'll never, ever forget a damn second of those days or forgive those who've caused all that and then tried to lie their way out of it...
Guess that's why my first reaction to someone saying "Thank you for your service" is still a quick check on my six.
That's a workable theory too, but a couple of thoughts to keep in mind.
First, not all leaks of classified information rise to the level of criminal. Only certain select types of classified information carry risk of criminal prosecution on leaking. If the FBI is illegally snooping, and then leaks the substance of that snoop, the leak probably wouldn't be a crime.
Second, leaking, even non-criminal leaking, exposes the leaker to being fired or otherwise disciplined in a workplace way. So, leakers tend to want to do so without being identified. Declassification is not a good tool to get dirt out into the public.
Especially so from the confines of a prosecutor's office, where everything is meant to be kept out of public view to protect the innocent and to protect the investigation. Classified or not, the info a prosecutor is working with is supposed to be the prosecutor's secret.
I keep wondering about that. What is the “evidence” ?
The hard drive ? or the image of the hard drive mentioned earlier ? If the image, then that statement is probably true.
