Business traveler with a premium class ticket and a traveling partner. Did the boyfriend have a voucher reward ticket? Those usually come with stipulations.

The last person I knew who was bumped said the Airline told them they go by what time the ticket was sold and whoever purchased their ticket first gets the seat.

It’s amazing what even makes news these days.
Whenever any member of one the Protected groups gets treated like any normal person they are being subjected to "humiliation”.
If they are not coddled treated as special and protected they are being discriminated against.
