I didn’/t register to get the rest of the story, but my question is: Why was a gibbon buried in a royal tomb. Are there any other examples, perhaps with a less-royal gibbon interred with a lesser noble.
Or was this just a cherished pet and had no religious significance to the Chinese of the day?

I think the “gibbon” was really an alien. Died during some plague. All the other aliens left for Mexico and Peru.
