[Microsoft] Claims its the least complaint-generating Windows ever
Microsofts decided that Windows 10 version 1803, aka the April Update, is now fit for consumption by business users or indeed anyone or anything capable of running Windows 10.
The companys declared the updated OS is now fully available for all compatible devices running Windows 10 worldwide, including business PCs.
Redmonds advice comes after over 250 million users installed the OS and gave it a thrashing. Those efforts produced data that Microsoft said shows a twenty per reduction in system stability issues and the same reduction in operating system and driver stability issues.
The company also said Our internal customer support teams are seeing a continued reduction in call and online support requests for Windows 10 with the April 2018 Update. Our OEMs also continue to experience reductions in monthly customer support volumes with this update.

Windows 10 1803 is therefore good to go for business users tuned in to Microsofts Semi-Annual Channel, should you wish to adopt the update. And for the rest of us, 1803 will just appear in Windows Update if it hasnt already.
So brace for an update frenzy: Microsoft said Windows 10 is now approaching 700 million monthly active devices which leaves about 450 million now eligible for an upgrade. Do try to get them done at a convenient time, people, because the download is at least four gigabytes and Windows installs usually take at least 30 minutes and require multiple reboots! ®
Windows 10 Update FOR EVERYBODY... PING!
Nope, nope, nope, uh uh. Nope.
Do not want........
Just got a new laptop for work with Windows 10. Nothing but problems.
Linux Mint 19 will be out soon.....
For the most part, the 10 boxes I’ve rolled out have been doing well.
One thing I have to do is turn off some options in file explorer to prevent the doughnut of death.
Back to The Geek Squad AGAIN to fix my computer because of another goofy Windows 10 update?
Did they take out the Microsoft spyware that sends customer data back to Microsoft, the PhoneHome feature?
No, then it ain’t ready for anyone processing intellectual property.
Geek Squad is dangerous on a good day.
Pick up a copy of system mechanic.
Going to milk my Win7Pro machines until the security updates end. At that point I am going to switch to a Linux-based OS for my Internet work and keep the Win7Pro machines for any offline activities (Excel, Word, audio music processing, etc.).
Uh... Turn off what options?
My Win10 tablet upgraded 1803 several weeks ago. It took several hours of installing and restarting. When it was finished, it loaded with no significant problems.
I am still sort of learning my way around Win10 when I take the time to play with it, so I don’t have any idea what 1803 fixed or broke.
It took my brother a day and a half to do the update ,LOL
I've been a part of the projected Windows 10 roll-out to over 11,000 systems, and I just don't see any way to make this work, even using Microsoft's Windows 10 LTSB (Long Term Service Branch,) which allows companies to put off major Windows 10 upgrades for up to 2 years, as opposed to the 6 month time frame for the standard releases. UGH!
Mark
Win 7 Pro 64 here.
I am unmoved.
#3 in the list. I uncheck both boxes.

Nah, my local Geek Squad is pretty good. I don’t use the online thing - that is not good. My problems are generally pretty simple and the guys in the shop do a pretty good job.
You use to be able to right click and see Control Panel until the latest update. It comes and goes along with the ability to change the font size. Depends on which version you have and the whim of those at Microsoft.
Go to Start button> Settings> Themes> Desktop icons... you can add the Control Panel icon to the desktop.
Microsoft wants everyone to use the search box next to the Start button. Example type: Control and Control Panel will come up.
They also hide Computer (This PC), User files, Recycle Bin
Why? arrgh don’t know. Also This PC hides the navigation until you click on the arrow in the upper right by the blue dot.
I deal with this every week at work as people call in and cannot locate anything.
By default all this should be displayed but it is not.
Unusual for Geek Squad.
I’ve had to fix their screw ups enough.
