One week after the century-old Boy Scouts of America announced it was changing its name and its mission to accept girls at all levels of scouting, its single biggest participant announced Tuesday that it was cutting ties to the Scouts.
And taking one-fifth of the Scouts membership with it.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, usually known as the Mormons, announced Tuesday that it was severing its relationship with the Scouts effective Dec. 31, 2019, according to the Salt Lake Tribune.
In a statement issued jointly by the church and the Scouts, the church explained the move by noting that its membership was more global now than ever, and required a global approach.
“In this century of shared experience, the church has grown from a U.S.-centered institution to a worldwide organization, with a majority of its membership living outside the United States,” the joint statement said.
“That trend is accelerating. The church has increasingly felt the need to create and implement a uniform youth leadership and development program that serves its members globally. In so doing it will be necessary for the church to discontinue its role as a chartered partner with BSA.”

Good. The BSA was once a great American institution. Stopped being that a few years ago, as the liberals took ever everything and destroyed everything, like rotting parasites.
You nailed it. IMO they did it over corporate money. (big corporations are almost always run by leftists).
A few years back our regional Scouts were lobbying Christian organizations for money. A spokesman was begging on local radio. I called in and asked if they wanted Christian money why was the biggest anti-Christian CEO just elected to the board? His reply was, “How did you know who was on the board?”
I suspect it has to do with supporting boys already in the program, who are pursuing Eagle rank. With a waiting period of 6 months Life-Eagle, 6 months Star-Life, and 4 months First Class-Star, the worst-case drop-dead date to achieve First Class in an LDS unit would be the start of September of this year, so boys entering the program at the start of this summer could realistically get Scout, Tenderfoot, Second Class and First Class over the summer, and achieve Eagle by the end of the unit charters in a year and a half...

Good for the Mormon Church to stand up to the secularists. Hopefully this will bolster America’s rejecting of the anti-Christian agenda.

The Boy Scouts of America organization name will continue to be Boy Scouts of America. It is not changing.
Reports started circulating on Wednesday, May 2, concerning the update to the Boy Scout program name. That program currently serves boys ages 11 through 17. Beginning February 2019, the Boy Scout program name will change to “Scouts BSA” and will begin serving girls, as well as boys.
Under the new name of “Scouts BSA,” that program, which is the same iconic program it has always been, will continue to offer Scouting in single-gender troops, through which Scouts – ages 11 through 17 – can work to earn the Eagle Scout rank.
Before, during, and after that program name change, the overall organization name will continue to be Boy Scouts of America.
Both male and female participants in the Scouts BSA program will be referred to as “Scouts,” just as boys now in the Boy Scout program are often referred to as “Scouts.”

Once the left has finished wiping out the Boy Scouts, won’t they just turn their guns on Trail Life and get the same result?
They got their gays and girls in the ranks... what more of the "war" is there to fight?

Trail Life is more connected to churches than governmental organizations. Scouts were at one time sponsored by military units.
He implied the “war” can still be won. I’m asking...how? The social infestation of BSA is well underway. No way does that get turned back.
My son completed his first year and the pack leader is a very open conservative his license tag says GUNS ....
Win back the leadership.
Ban gays from leadership positions.
Allow the girls but put them in separate troops. Keep them separate when appropriate, like overnight camping situations.
Provide a healthier alternative to the girl scouts.
