Parents who feel responsibility to give attention to their kids ... and struggle to put food on the table for big families ... are at a disadvantage in all social movements.
The #1 reason senior citizens suddenly become visible in conservative groups is that their #1 priority was family. Now the kids are grown. Seniors, even fully employed seniors have far more time.
Adults who don’t have kids, or who don’t give attention to kids, have far more time available for other things. The movement becomes the family. When I was single, the movement was my family. When my kids were small I shifted from player to observer. When my teenagers no longer wanted me babysitting them, I became a player again.
Rare is the family where both parents support involvement, even when they agree on the issues and candidates.
Conclusion, Most LGBTQX do not have kids. They have time on their hands. They like attention that they can get in movements.
