New research finds that gay men and lesbian women are disproportionately represented in the anti-war and environmental movements.
Social activism is on the rise, especially on the political left. But who are the people who actually get off the couch and devote time and effort to supporting a cause?
Disproportionately, they are gay men and lesbian women.
"Lesbians, gays, and bisexuals were more than twice as likely as heterosexuals to join anti-war, environmental, and anti-corporate movements," writes Eric Swank of Arizona State University. This may reflect the fact that they are "more aware, and less accepting, of social inequalities than heterosexuals."
"LGBs were roughly twice as likely as heterosexuals to join the peace, environmental, and Occupy Wall Street movements as heterosexuals," he writes. No similar sexual-orientation gap was found for the other campaigns.
So if your social justice organization is looking for recruits, the local LGBT communities are good places to start. When your sexual orientation puts you in the minority, sometimes leading to discrimination and scorn, the personal becomes political.

They have a lot more time on their hands, between not raising kids and indulging in their “fabulous” life styles.
Simple, they are f ed up and anti social.
It may also reflect a sick need to signal their virtue to any and all--and to demand that any/all in turn salute them OR ELSE.
Yeah, they don’t relate normally to the world, so they have to find a “cause” to feel relevant. Rather sad.
You think maybe that’s because there are only two of them for every hundred sane persons?
They don't seem to be doing sh!t about those being killed in the countries below:
They're "working" "hard" to destroy Western Civilization, and to destroy humanity.
Since those on the left hate God, they are always on the lookout for a substitute to fill the hole in their soul, in vain though. And you cannot get more anti-God than being a totalitarian communist, especially when you believe you will be the ones running things.

They should know better. If they succeed, what comes next will destroy them.

3) They tend to live in big cities and metropolitan areas.
Hold those three factors constant and there may not be that much of a difference.
This is a prt of why many environmental organizations are less about keeping air/water/ground clean and more about promoting the idea that babies are a poison to the planet.
How do you save the world without procreation? Have they’re collective pea brains ever thought about that?
