I remember at the time many people in the communities were upset, and tried to get information, but basically the Obama Administration basically said it’s none of your business, and refused to release any information.
Some of the women and children were put on buses and just sent to small communities across the country with no advance notice. I was mainly just a reader back then, so I have no links, but I know it was posted and discussed quite a bit back then. I can not remember well enough to say which group, but there was a religious sponsored tie to some of the women and children groups. By that I mean, the religious group was supposed to be “sponsoring” on paper, but it didn’t really pan out to much in reality.
I wish I could hem, but you are right to be looking for exact info to share, because it was cruel to those women and children. Keep digging, you will find more!
