Twitter was incensed Saturday after Donald Trump used Barbara Bush’s funeral as an opportunity to tout his private business in a tweet, dubbing his Mar-a-Lago golf resort the “Southern White House.”
Trump noted that he would be watching Bush’s funeral — on TV — at his golf resort.
The latest “southern” title of Trump’s private “White House” was particularly galling to many who called it a “dog whistle” to racists. Trump used to refer to Mar-a-Lago as the “Winter White House.” The “Southern White House” was where Confederate president Jefferson Davis lived during the Civil War.
Angry tweets also pointed out that it’s the only “White House” where taxpayers have to either pay a $200,000 membership fee to visit it or know a member who can afford those fees to invite them to visit.

Mar a Lago is The Donalds.
His own security is there and he feels safe there.
No worries of the criminal FBI or Justice dept bugging him there.
Same for going to his golf courses.
What fertile and creative imaginations that are so easily triggered by Donald Trump. Government education, the media, and popular culture are the fertilizer.
But these same tweeters had absolutely no problem with the huge private estates where the Clinton freeloaded, or the Obama. It was fine for them to go to places the rest of us could hardly afford. Their hateful hypocrisy is without bounds. But it also reflects their jealousy of all President Trump and his family have.
We locals refer to it as the Central Northeastern Palm Beach County house of No Color.

A quick search turned up "Whitehouse of the Confederacy" not “Southern White House” as the name for the Jefferson Davis's residence.

I recently joined Twitter and have been astonished at the ignorance, bias, and pure hatred, of the Left toward President Trump. They look for anything to rave about! Who cares what the President calls anything?
