I feel like Im back in Long Beach or Compton.....its sad.
I grew up in Lakewood....next door to Long Beach. Lets just say...if you’re white in Long Beach, you’re a minority & you best not walk around by yourself there!
“Are you saying Long Beach has changed? (typing from South East Missouri).”

I grew up in Long Beach, too, 50’s-60’s, still here. It’s nothing like the suburban area we knew and loved then. Homeless roam and camp in the riverbeds, next to the freeway, hang out near neighborhood stores, and are likely responsible for much of the increased crime we have, plus CA decided to turn many criminals out of the prisons and make many felonies misdemeanors. Thugs know they can steal up to under 1,000K and will get a slap on the hand. Funny thing, we’ve also had an invasion of urban coyotes, making it impossible to enjoy owning a pet here. No pet can go out the dog door alone at night without being in danger of being consumed, and we are told to run at the coyotes and yell at them when out trying to walk our dogs. Now if we could just get the coyotes to go after the crooks, things might improve.
