Seriously? Every once in awhile family activities keep kids out late. Even good parents make exceptions to bed time once in awhile. It could have been a special night-a rare treat out.
On summer we had surprise jammy rides with our kids. Wed go through the bedtime routine and after theyd been tucked in bed for a bit, wed call out jammy ride! The kids would get out of bed and hop in the car to drive through for ice cream or some other fun adventure in PJs.
It kept them up late, but they loved it. Its been several years since we did that,we should do it this summer with our younger kids.
“Jammy rides” sounds like a lot of fun - great idea. The only jammy rides we gave was when my twin daughters were young and had colic so bad - to try to get them asleep.
At least it gave my wife a break from it for awhile. And then that slow careful trip back to their crib.
Sadly - this little girl won’t get to do “jammy rides” with her dad. Or anything. Because of some scumbag, deranged bum. Of course it is “inhumane” to put them in a pysch ward where he might have received the treatment he needed.
Well - hopefully in prison he will receive the treatment he deserves.
I often go to the store late at night - 11:30 or midnight. It is always tough to see some mom with a small child or two doing their shopping. I figure single mom, works a late shift, etc. It’s hard enough raising kids with two parents. (And now the deceased’s wife is on her own.)
It’s these sort of little things that make happy memories for children :)
you sound like a wonderful parent...
My younger ones do that too
Late at night when mom goes to bed
Usually in summer
Ill be watching some documentary on YouTube on Apple TV
Theyll want to go ride around late which may mean ice cream or McDonalds
We might cruise or walk downtown franklin TN which is historic and eerie late at night all the antebellum houses
Or go see the confederate cemetery which. Late night with. Moon
Scary
Or just some old weaving country tree covered lane while they pick the music
Now Ive only got one left who wants to do things like that
My daughters a decade or so earlier were no different
