Full title: 'They are refusing to make a purchase': Philadelphia cops release Starbucks manager's 911 call that led to two black men being arrested and sparked coffee chain boycott

Police have released the 911 call a Philadelphia Starbucks manager made claiming that two black men wouldn't leave the store, which ultimately led to their arrests and widespread calls to boycott the coffee chain.

The brief 911 call, which was released by Philadelphia Police on Tuesday, shows manager Holly Hylton reporting the two men for not making a purchase at her store last week.

'Hi, I have two gentlemen at my cafe that are refusing to make a purchase or leave. I'm at the Starbucks at 18th and Spruce,' she said in the call made at 4.37pm last Thursday.

In addition to the 911 call, police also released several recordings that captured the communications between dispatch and officers en route to the Starbucks.

Most places have laws against loitering.

Besides how is Starbucks suppose to pay for that "free" internet if one does not buy that overpriced dishwater they call coffee.

These two should have bought a small cup of regular coffee and problem would have been solved.

We should flood the stores, bring in our own coffee and hang out. Seems like they are ok with that.

But, then they wouldn't be famous. Or aggrieved.

Yeah, they should have purchased or left. But ...911? They should have called the non-emergency number instead.

... and set up a store within a store selling your coffee while you loiter and use their internet. Sounds like a business plan!

I see more incidents from the “race of professional victims” like this if there is a payoff. Muslims, LGBTEFG's and transgenders are jumping on the bandwagon as we read this.

I don’t know details but if people loiter and refuse to leave then next step is to call the police

“but that’s what Starbucks is, a place to loiter, LOL”

No back in the day before everyone had high speed internet that is where you went to use it with your laptop. It was common courtesy to buy a cup of coffee to support the place because after all you might be there for hours using the computer so you’d buy a big cop of that dishwater with whipped cream on top and drink it slowly. I found out why it’s drank slowly one time when went there the stuff is nasty.

These two men were not following the “rules”. Support the place by buying their nasty coffee. Good grief buy a biscotti and gnaw on that for while the thing is hard a bone!

Facts don’t matter to the Racial Grievance Committees.

Just as the actual facts about Trayvon, the Gentle Giant and Fast Freddie didn’t matter.

The template has been set, and by gum, they’re going to stand by it.

Virtually EVERYTHING about the BLM movement is based on lies. And the black community eats it up.

Loitering IS a crime.

They were justified in throwing them out of the store.

Calling the police is exactly what they would be doing if someone was carrying a gun in a No Guns establishment and refused to leave when axed.

It’s all they can legally do.

No just flash mob and fill the store with non paying people for thirty or forty minutes, oh and a couple of breakdowns in the drive thru too.

“It’s all they can legally do.”
