In-N-Out is taking Australian burger chain Down N Out to federal court, claiming the business is mimicking its offerings and misleading customers hungry for American-style burgers.
The Sydney Morning Herald reports the famous California burger chain first took Hashtag Burgers to court last October. Hashtag Burgers has two Down N Out restaurants in Sydney and in a northwest city called Ryde.
In-N-Out alleges the Australian chain is seeking to mimic or model its business and has similar offerings, including a secret menu, according to the Herald.

No kidding. Like comparing Trump to obamatard.
In spite of that they pay well and have great people. I like a seared burger like Steak n Shake also.
68 years old and 68 different burgers a year. IN N OUT.same menu for 60 years. Nobody is outside Texas has even heard of the tasteless Whattaburger.
>>What makes me laugh when someone compares In N Out to any of these other burgers. They are half the cost of the other chains.<<
half the cost and twice as good......yes.
That is ridiculous.
Down Under Burgers? Down-and-Out....
“In-N-Out alleges the Australian chain is seeking to mimic or model its business and has similar offerings, including a secret menu...”
If I can’t get a double kangaroo burger with koala cheese, I’m not interested!
Nation’s burger is very good. Lived on ‘em in college, but the place is kind of overpriced... and slow. I think my favorite fast food burger chain now is The Habit. In-n-out is good too, but their drive-thru lines are occasionally absurd. I’m sorry, but no burger in the world is worth 45-60 minutes in a drive-thru line.
Franchise / Outlet?
Potato / Patatoe?
Lets call the whole thing off.
“For chiliburgers there is ONLY Tommys which sadly is still only in So Cal.”
Now we’re getting to the SERIOUSLY EXCELLENT food on this thread.
“Especially the one on Roscoe at the the 405. Something about the Brewery across the street makes it better.”
That’s been my #2 Tommy’s, with the Original (Rampart and Beverly) being #1, but not by much. I tend to agree with you, there is something about the food at Roscoe that’s probably better than the Original location...but the Original is still worth the experience, every time.
“Holy moley! That is the one I used to go to when I lived in VN!!!”
...as with MANY of us, particularly if we lived in the Valley. OUTSTANDING food!
I used to go to Beeps all the time.
Talk about “you don’t know what you’ve got ‘till it’s gone.”
I haven’t had a decent Patty Melt since I was there.
I am getting serious food nostalgia. Seeing the gas prices on the corner from Beeps would probably clear that up, though.

FWIU, an Outlet can be corporate owned or part of a sub-chain of franchises. A Franchise is owner operated and a separate entity from the chain.
They used to have one in Tunica at the Harrah’s Casino before it shut down. They were good.
They serve kangaroo burgers.
Love me some Culver’s. Great burgers and ice cream.
Tommy’s.....one of the few things I miss about LA. That and Philippe’s.
