Will Trump Sign the Omnibus Bill? [Vanity]
Self ^ | March 23, 2018 | Self

Wow, Omnibus bill rushed through both House and Senate without discussion, now to President Trump. Not just the balance of the year, but for many items, for the next three years! Planned Parenthood, token amount for wall and prohibition to build further, funding for sanctuary cities, funding for ObamaCare, new 2nd amendment infringements, and more.

We don’t elect a king. Sadly, the “true conservatives” in Congress have failed us.

The entire government has failed us Trump included. If you are going to lose either way then lose doing the right thing and veto the pile of junk. He won’t. He’s not a conservative either.

Veto? Then what? His veto would be either overridden and/or we would get an even worse pile of garbage from the careerist beltway scum. They don’t call it the Surrender Party for nothing.

Trump will lose about 1/3 of his momentum and about 1/4 of his supporters if he signs this without a fight. As others have noted, it is apparent that the RNC and GOP are hoping to be the minority party in 2019 so they they cannot be blamed for failing to help Drain the Swamp. Primary them all out, every 2 years, for the next decade. Period.

I feel for you, my rep Randy Weber voted no as did my Senator Ted Cruz, John Cornlyn however voted yes. Time to work to get Cornlyn out of the Senate.

South Korea will never permit use of military force. So no the USA will not be taking action against NK any time soon.

There is only one possible political calculation of why this MIGHT make sense.

1. Signing the bill removes democrat opposition to cuts, and provides no funding basis for votes against republicans by center and left center voters in the midterms. After all even the Dem leaders praise the bill.

2. IF indictments are unsealed before midterms, as per Sundance, then major disruption occurs for the Dems. Lots of voters, right, right center, center and left center have lots of reason to vote against dems. Voting AGAINST is the strongest reason to vote. Trump isn’t on the ballot no matter how hard the left tries to make it so. All about individual district races and funding and disgust with the deep state. Trump will argue he needs more Republicans to get the job done.

That is a big IF, and if it doesn’t occur, Trump is lost. And spending, regardless, is now established as a much higher baseline and even harder to cut.

“...Trump better have a plan up his sleeve to screw up the rest of that bill...”

Well put. This is my hope as well. The President can’t veto this because he has to fund the military.

McConnell is an establishment swamp traitor and we MUST vote in the midterms for conservative senators who support the MAGA agenda.

Turning on the President now is not the answer (not directed at poster- in general).

I have always believed that any high ranking officer that served under the usurper was a traitor. They put personal agenda above country, or worse, were an active part of destroying America.

I have used the term Obama generals and some FReepers, probably military, took great umbrage at that. But now it’s become clear that they have poorly served POTUS and he is moving on from them. It would not surprise me at all to see Twinkle Toes Mattis gone after the midterms.

Don’t pay attention the no votes. The cake was already baked and they all voted no knowing it would pass anyway. Every single beltway GOPers owns this stinking pile of garbage.

I will even grant there are a few things to like in this bill. But still, it’s a huge financial burden and mistake. If this was Obama signing this, there would be outrage. The torches would be lit, the pitchforks raised and the tar would be approaching a boil.

Meaningless. They all voted no knowing it would pass. Don’t be duped by a classic beltway theater performance.

The President can’t veto this because he has to fund the military.

There are other ways to get that done without stabbing the nation in the back, and most military would understand that, even if they had to wait a few weeks to get paid.

This is not the hill to make a stand on.

This is not a hill to stand on then there no hill worth fighting for. This bill breaks just about every promise made during the campaign. It funds Ocare, it funds planned parenthood, it funds sanctuary cities. It does not fund the wall but puts limited on border enforcement and it also limits 2cd A rights.

If Trump signs this bill he owns it and his supporter will bail on him in huge numbers. There will be lots of utube videos of burning MAGA hats. Then the rats will take the house and the Senate and Trump will be impeached thus ending his presidency.

It does not get an worse than that.

Trump is trying to govern without the support of his own party. We just have to trust him that this stinking pile of garbage is the best he could get. We don’t have any other choice. Sorry. The enemy is inside the wire. Act accordingly.

He is the ONLY one fighting for US.

If he signs this bill he is NOT fighting for us. He is throwing us under the bus.
