I would be curious how the business side of Amazon bought off on this idea.

Frankly, the whole Hobbit era of movies were pitiful and just weren’t worth watching (I paid for the first one, and saw the remainder via airline travel). At the end, I felt like I’d been at some cheapo amusement park and going from land to land.

Simple. Game of Thrones is one of the most popular TV series of all time. Next year HBO will air the remaining 6 episodes and then that's it. It's done.

Amazon sees a built-in audience of GoT fans.

I hope they succeed. I love GoT and will greatly miss it. If Amazon can bring the same high quality to their program, it's a win-win for everyone.

Oh c’mon man, they were GREAT! Can’t see a need for a TV show though. Everyone who would have been interested have already seen it all.

All the actors would be different, unfamiliar.

This will be an epic waste of money (failure)
