The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have reported an alarming rise in the number of teen suicides between 2006 and 2016.
The data analysis shows that the number of self-inflicted deaths of white children between the ages of 10 and 17 increased 70 percent during the time span. Black children and teens are less likely to kill themselves, but their suicide rate rose even higher judging from the study: an increase of 77 percent.
The suicide rate among girls between the ages of 15 and 19 rose to a 40-year high in 2015.
A myriad of factors is attributed to the rise.
And it can become an epidemic within communities. Just in the past several months, six students took their lives in one Ohio school district.
But the rise in suicides isnt only limited to teens. Tom Simon, an author of a CDC report on the topic said, We know that overall in the US, were seeing increases in suicide rates across all age groups, calling the pattern pretty robust.
Referring to a different study, The New York Times reported in 2016 that U.S. suicide levels had reached their highest in almost 30 years.

it’s Obama’s fault, his hope and change wasn’t the utopia everyone expected, big surprise.
Kids today are bored. They may not say it, but it’s true. When we were kids we were outside all day. We swam, we biked, we climbed trees, we built forts. Today’s kids are plopped in front of a TV or given a phone and are “entertained” by garbage.
Have you see what passes for social discourse on “social media?” It’s no wonder kids are killing themselves. Would you want to live in a world where you didn’t just step outside every so often and go somewhere? Sheesh.
With a society that is now plugged in to propaganda and messaging at all times, the exposure is even more difficult for teenagers to process. Lauren Anderson, executive director of the Josh Anderson Foundation (named after her 17-year-old brother who killed himself in 2009), points out that the teens are more susceptible to reacting impulsively than adults might.
Yet, the Left trot 16 year olds out in front of the cameras as sages when it comes to gun control. Brilliant.
Keep telling a kid how bad it is that he is white.
We are going to have to seriously intervene against the left.
This, ‘story’ gives NO demographic information. Blue State Kids or Red State Kids?
That said:
1. Kids don’t have much in the way of family anymore. No Dads, no Grandpas, no Uncles. Men are no longer needed, appreciated or welcome in ‘family.’. G-d isn’t welcome in the home, either. All kids have are a stressed-out, overworked Mom doing the work of two. If they’re lucky! Mr. Government is there to ‘help’ her and her offspring, which equals enslavement.
2. I have no answers for this. I think the horse is too far out of the barn. :(
3. Thanks, Democrats! Thanks RINOS!
We glorify people who's only talent is being attention whores and call them celebrities.
Music dropped to the most base level about money, drugs, alcohol, Ni**ers and Hoe's.
Then kids get out in the real world and find out that hundred thousand student loan is going to take a lifetime of working minimum wage because you got a degree but have no actual skills or work experience.
What else would you expect?!
We are not building warriors we are building snowflakes.
Children aren’t being raised in truth, they are being raised in propaganda. Forget the implications with respect to destabilizing sexuality.
To sum up what rarestia posted, our youth have little or no meaning in their lives. And the amoral code they are being spoonfed is nihilism. I have a 21-year-old son. He’s a brilliant and highly motivated rock-ribbed conservative. But he is clearly in the minority. He’s never attended a public school. Our parochial schools still have standards.
They did him well. If people would give up their cable and iphone bills, they could afford it. Priorities ?
Worse yet, they’ve been robbed of a future — and a past — by liars who condemn a world that never existed and promise a world that can never be.
This is a fact that always get buried. And there's a reason for it. Our boys our failing because we are failing our boys. Tucker Carlson on a recent brodcast had this to say:
The signs are everywhere. If youre a middle-aged man, you probably know a peer who has killed himself in recent years. At least one. If youre a parent, you may have noticed that your daughters friends seem a little more on the ball than your sons. They get better grades. They smoke less weed. They go to more prestigious colleges. If youre an employer, you may have noticed that your female employees show up on time, whereas the young men often dont. And of course, if you live in this country, youve just seen a horrifying series of mass shootings, far more than weve ever had. Women didnt do that. In every case, the shooter was a man.
Something ominous is happening to men in America. Everyone who pays attention knows that. Whats odd is how rarely you hear it publicly acknowledged. Our leaders pledge to create more opportunities for women and girls, whom they imply are failing. Men dont need help. Theyre the patriarchy. Theyre fine. More than fine.
But are they fine? Here are the numbers:
Start with the most basic, life and death. The average American man will die five years before the average American woman. One of the reasons for this is addiction. Men are more than twice as likely as women to become alcoholics. Theyre also twice as likely to die of a drug OD. In New Hampshire, one of the states hit hardest by the opioid crisis, 73 percent of overdose deaths were men.
But the saddest reason for shortened life spans is suicide. Seventy-seven percent of all suicides are committed by men. The overall rate is increasing at a dramatic pace. Between 1997 and 2014, there was a 43 percent rise in suicide deaths among middle-aged American men. The rates are highest among American Indian and white men, who kill themselves at about ten times the rate of Hispanic and black women.
You often hear of Americas incarceration crisis. Thats almost exclusively a male problem too. Over 90 percent of inmates are male.
These problems are complex, and they start young. Relative to girls, boys are failing in school. More girls than boys graduate high school. Considerably more go to and graduate from college. Boys account for the overwhelming majority of school discipline cases. One study found that fully one in five high school boys had been diagnosed with hyperactivity disorder, compared with just one in 11 girls. Many were medicated for it. The long-term health effects of those medications arent fully understood, but they appear to include depression in later life.
Women decisively outnumber men in graduate school. They earn the majority of doctoral degrees. They are now the majority of new enrollees in both law and medical schools.
For men, the consequences of failing in school are profound. Between 1979-2010, working-age men with only high school degrees saw their real hourly wages drop about 20 percent. Over the same period, high school educated women saw their wages rise. The decline of the industrial economy disproportionately hurt men.
There are now 7 million working-age American men who are no longer in the labor force. Theyve dropped out. Nearly half of them take pain medication on any given day. Thats the highest rate in the world by far.
Far fewer young men get married than did just a few decades ago, and fewer stay married. About one in five American children live with only their mothers. Thats double the rate in 1970. Millions more boys are growing up without fathers. Young adult men are now more likely to live with a parent than with a spouse or partner. That is not the case for young women. Single women buy their own homes at more than twice the rate of single men. More women than men now have drivers licenses.
Whenever gender differences come up in public debate, the so-called wage gap dominates the conversation. A woman makes 77 cents for every dollar a man earns. Thats the statistic youll hear a lot. Its repeated everywhere. But that number compares all American men to all American women across all professions. No legitimate social scientist would consider that a valid or meaningful measure. The number is both meaningless and intentionally misleading. Its a talking point.
Once you compare men and women with similar experience working the same hours in similar jobs for the same period of time and thats the only way you can measure it the gap all but disappears. In fact, it may invert. One study using census data found that single women in their 20s living in metropolitan areas now earn 8 percent more on average than their male counterparts. By the way, the majority of managers are now women. Women on average are scoring higher on IQ tests than men are.
Eveb physically men are falling behind. A recent study found that almost half of young men failed the Armys entry-level physical fitness test during basic training. Fully seventy percent of American men are overweight or obese, as compared to 59 percent of American women.
Perhaps most terrifyingly, men seem to be becoming less male fundamentally, measurably. Sperm counts across the west have plummeted, down almost 60 percent since the early 1970s. Scientists dont know why. Testosterone levels in men have also fallen precipitously. One study found that the average levels of male testosterone dropped by 1 percent every year after 1987. And it is unrelated to age. The average 40-year-old-man in 2017 would have testosterone levels 30 percent lower than the average 40-year-old man in 1987.
There is no upside to this trend. Lower testosterone levels in men are associated with depression, lethargy, weight gain and decreased cognitive ability. Nothing like this has ever happened to a population this big. Youd think wed want to know what exactly is going on and how to fix it. Yet the media ignore the story. Its considered a fringe topic.
Nor is it a priority in the scientific research establishment. We checked and couldnt find a single NIH-funded study on why testosterone levels are falling. We did find a study on, quote, Pubic Hair Grooming Prevalence and Motivation Among Women in the United States.
So, those are the numbers and they paint a very clear picture: American men are failing, in body, mind, and spirit. This is a crisis. Yet our leaders pretend its not happening. And in fact, they tell us the opposite is true: Women are victims, men are oppressors. To question that assumption is to risk punishment. Even as women far outpace men in higher education, for example, virtually every college campus supports a womens studies department, whose core goal is to attack male power. Our politicians and business leaders internalize and amplify that message. Men are privileged. Women are oppressed. Hire and promote and reward accordingly.
That would be fine if it were true. But its not true. At best, its an outdated view of an America that no longer exists. At worst, its a pernicious lie.
Either way, ignoring the decline of men doesnt help anyone. Men and women need each other. One cannot exist without the other. Thats elemental biology, but its also the reality each of us has lived, with our parents and siblings and friends. When men fail, all of us suffer. How did this happen? How can we fix it?

You can't form an attachment to a screen full of photons. Technology has no life, no soul.
For most people, primary relationships are what make life meaningful. Without them it's a cold world, and suicide becomes a "so what."
SOCIAL MEDIA.
PERSONAL ELECTRONICS.
great article.
The miracle of “hope and change”. What is? Mass racial divisiveness, mass social and political division, lack of national consensus on American foreign policy, more “shootings”, an opioid-drug crisis, a broken VA system, increased teen suicides, increased college student indebtedness and defaults on that indebtedness, ect., ect. ect.
Ahhh, but the size of the federal government grew exponentially!!! That WAS the “hope” and the real desired “change”.
In other news, teenage church attendance was down 70% over the last decade.
The rise in suicides correlates to the drop in homicides.
Our children are staying home and social media and technology is making them suicidal. Ironically, this lack of face to face interaction has reduced homicides.
