Our lovely, good twelve year old boxer dog MOLLY died this morning in our living room. It was not a complete surprise. As I truly said to Molly this morning, Go ahead sweetie, you can go .. it seems like the time good for you and good for God. No time to lose.
She died about 30 seconds after I said that to her. Mary and I wept some .. held her paws with love and wished my nephew David were here with a beer or two.
Molly was a complete sweetheart . and forget about the God messages. Molly was clued into God before she was created . We all were.....and we all are.
Molly had God in her eyes. All dogs do. We all do. Let it show ..
Molly, on her last night on this earth, tired and weary as she was for about ten days . walked into my bedroom from the living room at 7:30 p.m . . her too-long toenails clicking on the hardwood floors as she purposefully proceeded .. she made the turn into my room as I only heard her, but, Mary actually was fortunate enough to see Molly come into my room.
Molly hadnt made that move to my room until after midnight for months . but just last night . she entered very much earlier, five hours earlier. I dont wonder why.
Goodbye . is a difficult sentiment for man or beast. Molly the pooch made it easy.
Mary (my wife) and I lived with this darling Molly for many years .. now lets all be just a little humble . and suggest that we all know absolutely NOTHING about God.

Bless all who deserve to be blessed and who are good to others WHEN NO ONE IS LOOKING and to those who love the ones who deserve love .. (even a baserunner for your favorite team who gets thrown out on an attempted steal of third base with nobody out in a tied game in the last of the ninth!)
Be well .............
So sorry about your Molly. I lost my JRT a year ago when he was 14. I will always miss him. I’m glad Molly went peacefully. Mine didn’t. He was sick for a year before I had to give him up. The pain gets easier but never goes away. I’m glad Molly went on her terms. I can tell she was loved.
Sorry for your loss, and thank you for this moving post.
Deepest sympathies.
Show me someone who does not love dogs and I’ll show you someone unfit to live as far as I am concerned.
There are thousands waiting for a forever home through no fault of their own; there is never a bad time as long as your heart is ready.

Thank you, sir.
I cooked all these chicken thighs, beef liver steaks, and pork treats for my poochie........... but ........ I just couldn't bribe her to keep living.
If only the Clintons could be BRIBED TO DIE.
(Oh no, wrong place for that sentiment.)
......... sorry, very sorry.
Sorry.
I am so profoundly sorry on the loss of your faithful loving doggie. She came into your bedroom because she knew she had very little time left and wanted to spend it with you. No more suffering for this good girl.
I am so sorry for your loss I know how you feel..losing our pup Nemo August of last year..he went on his terms, so did Molly..she died with family surrounding her, so did Nemo..they are both chasing each other in heaven. RIP Sweet Molly.
Very sorry to hear of your loss. Dogs are a very special species, no others come close to their tight bonding to their human families. Every family should have a good dog and no child should grow up without one. Give yourself a month or so to grieve then go get yourself a puppy. I promise you won’t be disappointed as that puppy will bring new joy into your life.
Personal preference. We have always done it fairly soon after one passed. That may be too painful for some. Only your household knows the answer.
So sad. you have my deepest sympathy. My older dog, a mix of American Staffordshire Terrier, Lab, Golden, and Cocker Spaniel, just turned 13, so I’m going to feel the same pain in the not too distant future. My younger dog, an 8 year old Great Dane, is doing quite well, so I have several more years with him.
Condolences on the loss of your pet.
Ahhh. If ONLY our loved ones could be bribed to live!
Alas...

I have to admit I was a cat man" for about 30 years. Then my wife brought home these adorable boxer dogs. I was a goner.
I wasn't crazy about their "instincts" about peeing and pooping where they should............ but they were excellent.

CATS //// DOGS = TIED FOR FIRST!
My Malinous is 14 and has been having scary seizures for a year now, but always bounces back.
Love this poem...
THE POWER OF THE DOG
Rudyard Kipling
There is sorrow enough in the natural way
From men and women to fill our day;
But when we are certain of sorrow in store,
Why do we always arrange for more?
Brothers and sisters I bid you beware
Of giving your heart to a dog to tear.
Buy a pup and your money will buy
Love unflinching that cannot lie—
Perfect passion and worship fed
By a kick in the ribs or a pat on the head.
Nevertheless it is hardly fair
To risk your heart for a dog to tear.
When the fourteen years that nature permits
Are closing in asthma or tumors or fits
And the vet’s unspoken prescription runs
To lethal chambers, or loaded guns.
Then you will find—its your own affair
But—you’ve given your heart to a dog to tear.
When the body that lived at your single will
When the whimper of welcome is stilled (how still!)
When the spirit that answered your every mood
Is gone—wherever it goes—for good,
You still discover how much you care
And will give your heart to a dog to tear.
We’ve sorrow enough in the natural way
When it comes to burying Christian clay.
Our loves are not given, but only lent,
At compound interest of cent per cent.
Though it is not always the case, I believe,
That the longer we’ve kept ‘em the more do we grieve;
For when debts are payable, right or wrong,
A short time loan is as bad as a long—
So why in Heaven (before we are there)
Should we give our hearts to a dog to tear?
Sorry for your loss. Have lost a few over the years. Truly man’s best friend.
My Mom’s (RIP) two dogs are with me right now.
sorry to hear this...we lost our beloved Maltese Maggy a year and a half ago to kidney disease...the worlds greatest dog in every way...i used to say “its Maggie’s world- the rest of us are just taking up space..”
everyone in our house had broken hearts for the longest time and family/friends called us all weekend...I cried for a week- and i’m a 50+ YO man....
I think about that often and enjoy every moment I can spend with them.
