Our lovely, good twelve year old boxer dog MOLLY died this morning in our living room. It was not a complete surprise. As I truly said to Molly this morning, Go ahead sweetie, you can go .. it seems like the time good for you and good for God. No time to lose.
She died about 30 seconds after I said that to her. Mary and I wept some .. held her paws with love and wished my nephew David were here with a beer or two.
Molly was a complete sweetheart . and forget about the God messages. Molly was clued into God before she was created . We all were.....and we all are.
Molly had God in her eyes. All dogs do. We all do. Let it show ..
Molly, on her last night on this earth, tired and weary as she was for about ten days . walked into my bedroom from the living room at 7:30 p.m . . her too-long toenails clicking on the hardwood floors as she purposefully proceeded .. she made the turn into my room as I only heard her, but, Mary actually was fortunate enough to see Molly come into my room.
Molly hadnt made that move to my room until after midnight for months . but just last night . she entered very much earlier, five hours earlier. I dont wonder why.
Goodbye . is a difficult sentiment for man or beast. Molly the pooch made it easy.
Mary (my wife) and I lived with this darling Molly for many years .. now lets all be just a little humble . and suggest that we all know absolutely NOTHING about God.
***********
Bless all who deserve to be blessed and who are good to others WHEN NO ONE IS LOOKING and to those who love the ones who deserve love .. (even a baserunner for your favorite team who gets thrown out on an attempted steal of third base with nobody out in a tied game in the last of the ninth!)
Be well .............
Thank you, younzer.
Condolences. That is tough. I have had dogs all my life but I never got any good at losing them. I dread that they only live a few years. It hurts badly to lose one.
So sorry for your great loss. My prayers are with you and your family.
thank you.
Border collies are exquisite.
So sorry.
One of the things in life that truly sucks.
Sympathies. I know how I feel when one of my guys passes.

Sorry to hear it, but its obvious she had an excellent home and a great life.
RIP Molly.
I have always felt that with pets as with humans, life is for the living. I feel that we have an obligation to those we loved to carry on.
I once heard a dying woman tell her loved husband that if he immersed himself in grief for the rest of his life after she was gone, she would come back and haunt him.
With animals (as it is for people) there is a lot of love. And having a new one to love doesn’t mean you love the departed one less.
I’m so sorry. Hugs to you.
I still miss my husky after more than 15 years. The current 8 furbabies do bring joy.
My condolences, on your loss of a loved one.
We will probably be mourning our little Coco Chihuahua very soon. She’s 16 and getting so she can’t make it to the ‘pad’ sometimes and can hardly climb her little steps to lay in ‘her chair’. She sleeps practically all day now...................
Sad. My condolences to you
So many dogs have left me over the years. They are your best friend for a decade+ or so then . Gone. Each one seems to be harder to get over than the last.
You really Have to love a dog.
Molly received your Love, your warmth, good food, play and companionship for that 12 years. Giving our 4 footed children a good life as we revel in the rewards of a warm furry body under the covers on a cold night, a lick on the face when we don’t expect it just reminds us that these lovable creatures affect our lives profoundly. Can only express sympathy for your loss, cannot imagine your pain. I know my 6 furry children cannot be with me forever so will cherish every moment. You did good by your girl, always remember that.
Everytime I read that ‘Rainbow Bridge’ piece my allergies start to act up and my eyes get watery.
Also, dogs > humans, and brother, the gap is getting wider every day.
I’m sorry for your loss. I know what it’s like to lose a beloved pet.
So sorry
So sorry. Boxers are super nice dogs.
You'll know. I still miss my best walk and chase buddy. Every day. I figure omnipotent God has me throwing sticks and otherwise being a pal to my friend, even now. No reason I can't be in two or places at the same time, unbeknownst to me.
Better half brought a new buddy for me, about two years ago. It's not the same, but I love my new buddy as much as I loved and miss the last one. No two alike.
I have a cat that I love very much as one of God’s creatures. A very handsome yellow cat with lots of toes and a very quirky personality.
I found myself scratching his face and cheeks the other night, and thinking how much I have enjoyed having him as a part of my life, but thinking this with the full appreciation that as it is for all of us, it is for them...but a blink in time, and if we are lucky...we get to share it together in this world before we pass on.
So we need to rejoice in the time we have...:)
