It used to be ok to mock both sides of politics. Their ratings would go up if we didnt live behind the iron curtain. Jimmy Kimmel would rate commit seppuku than mock a leftist.

You missed the one and only laugh Kimmel got out of me. He cant even get a smile going. But someone wrote him this one to say before Sandra Bullock came out.
Speed, Gravity, and Crash are not just movies starring our next presenter; theyre also reasons not to fly in a plane with Harrison Ford.

That’s PC for ya-a love affair with a fish is ok, but dolphin in your tuna salad is baaaad. It’s an interspecies connection thing, the lead must have ‘identified’ as a dolphin.

I could understand the rest of the characters pretty well by Oldman was mostly garbled and I assume it was intentional since he was trying to mimic Churchill’s delivery in private settings. So Churchillian subtitles only would have made it better for me.

Except for the presenters, I'd not heard of any of the people involved. My fast-forward got a real workout last night. The only good thing out of the whole mess was a picture taken at an after party with Amy Adams and Emma Stone in the same frame. It's my new wallpaper.

But Kimmel really sucked. IMO
I enjoyed how Kimmel complained that the show would run way too long, then he goes across the street to pander to an audience watching something else.

It’s like the newspaper. Every day there is a headline whether there was any vital news or not. The Oscars will be given to the best, in their opinion, of the bunch no matter how bad it is. I’d love to hear them say, “There’ll be no award for best picture this year, because there weren’t any good enough.”

That’s a pretty bad job of colorizing,
unless John Wayne wore red hats and purple shirts.

So Churchillian subtitles only would have made it better for me. There is a lot of mumbling by actors today. I could not watch TV at all if not for captions. Background music of multiple speakers make it impossible to hear dialog. The Golden age dontcha know.

Yeah, that was pretty good. A lot of his jokes were met with dead silence. It was a tough crowd. LOL

And of course modern directors think it is uber cool to shoot dialog scenes in close-ups with the actors’ faces turned from the camera so lip reading doesn’t work. And you are right about all the other audio pollution. Don’t these creative idiots watch their own product on small screens with mediocre audio before they finalize the work?
