When Lissette Calveiro moved to New York from Miami in 2013, for an internship, she felt like she was living the “Sex and the City” dream.

The now-26-year-old was having brunch with friends and buying new outfits online — and documenting it all on her Instagram account.

“I wanted to tell my story about this young millennial living in New York,” Calveiro, who has more than 12,000 followers on Instagram, told The Post. “I was shopping . . . for clothes to take ‘the perfect ’gram.’ ”

Wages in New York have nothing to do with reality, and neither does the cost of living. Apparently, neither does Instagram.

no-lebrity.

People who think they are famous because they have lots of “followers”.

Ya gotta do SOMETHING to become famous. And even then that doesn’t always translate to being rich. There are countless “famous” cult figures (who have obsessive fans but struggle to make their bills) and “has been” once was famous types.

People who think they know you because they’ve seen a public facade (or recorded works).

Magazines don’t pay for all of the products they review and report on (Consumer Reports is the exception, I think, and some but not all restaurant critics and movie critics).

If you are going to promote someone’s “stuff”, see if they’ll send you a gift pack.

Now THAT is a cool story to tell...

“Fourteen months in, she was able to pay off her debt. After working with a financial coach, she now uses an app called Digit, which funnels money from her paycheck to a savings account after she’s paid her rent and living expenses (she keeps a cushion of $300 in checking).”

I have a friend who would rather live in a studio apartment in NYC than have a 1000 acres in Montana. I’m just the opposite, but it is his mentality that leads to the cost of living in NYC.

“Her biggest splurge was a $700 round-trip ticket to Austin, Texas”

If she spent $700 on that ticket, she has a LOT MORE issues than this article is letting on.

Interesting article. Thanks.

“It worries me how much I see girls care about image.” Yeah, well. If your parents weren’t so distant, then maybe you wouldn’t be so plastic. Parents and church are two healthy influences for a girl’s self image.

And I guess you have that 1000 acres in Montana?

I used to want to live in a studio apartment/minimalist, in my twenties. I have several acres now, and I wonder why I can’t just live in a studio apartment, somewhere, without all this work! Funny how life ends up!

Good for you... Montana is definitely colder, brrr. I left PA in my twenties, as I was born/raised in NC. Here I am, and now the traffic has caught up to me...just as bad here, as it was there decades ago...and nowhere less populated to go! Grass.....Oh yes, and I have that too..:)

Ever looked at the Southwest Website for flights/// (obviously not)! Should be titled "Another Clueless Snowflake in NYC"?

I lived successfully in NYC on the upper east when I was rich, and long before, I lived successfully in NYC, in Brooklyn when I was rat-ass poor: when a 70 cent slice of pizza and maybe a rice ball was an awesome supper, and when three hundred dollars in the bank was a fortune. Sure, I could have used credit, but I didn’t.

Guess which chapter of my life was more fun?

That’s because it’s the best city in the world.

I would list the reasons but it would be lost on most here.

“That’s because it’s the best city in the world.”

Lived there, and several other cities. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Loved certain aspects of NYC, didn’t like others. Miss some things, but am happy to not have to deal with others. Overall, I’m happy that we have a variety of people in the world, and that not everyone wants to live in the same place..

Now THAT is a cool story to tell...

Yep. She had a blast while she was young, living it up, partying, traveling, eating out, clubbing, wearing nice clothes, etc... She paid off her debts and now lives frugally.

Nothing wrong with what she did. We're only young and carefree for a short time before the responsibilities of adulthood come crashing upon us. Might as well enjoy it! I know I did.
