No doubts! I use America, United States, US, U.S., USA and U.S.A. interchangeably. It mostly depends upon how much I want to type at the time.

NR is one of the biggest conservative scams around.

"Yes, but the original Tea Party you represented rocked it on their own dime."

The strength of the Tea Party, grassroots with little or no formal structure, was also its weakness.

This is from a post by FReeper, ThePatriotsFlag somewhere back in 2009 or 2010. We would have done well to heed it.

"Something special is happening with the Tea Party Movement of today. Of course people will try to gain control of it because it is a very powerful source of energy. But the concern that it is “not controlled” and therefore “doomed” is unfounded. It needs not be nor should it be confined ... to a leader, to an organization or to a specific plan. Such activity would nullify the greatness of what it has become to date and could grow to in the future. One needn’t worry ... one only need to join the energy, shun people who attempt its control and allow plans to be spur of the moment. With a leader, there is a target, with an organization, a counter-organization, with a plan, a thwarting of the plan. But as pure ENERGY ... nothing can stop it. Think of it is energy ... join it, and be a part of this historical change-making effort."

All groups eventually get corrupted.

LOL! “... mostly depends on how much I want to type...”

Yeah, I get that. In a sort of spiritual sense, I think “America”. In a adrenaline/competitive sense, a political sense, or battle cry, I always thing “USA”. Weird, I suppose.

Thx for the reply.

What was done to the Tea party by scum Obama and Lerner was impeachable and deserving of prison. Just comparing Watergate standards is enough. This country has destroyed the rule of law.

I get what you’re saying. Sometimes the political context influences my choice. Especially if the subject is international in scope then it’s USA or United States.

Mostly it’s typing. Tendonitis is a real thing. ;-)

False premise: these people have had nothing to do with making government smaller.

I’m all for small government. Like the kind President Trump is creating by doing away with regulations and regulator agencies. What I’m not so fond of is tea party favorites like...oh, who would be a great example where one has cut the size of government, or ? Michelle Bachman retired, Ken Cuccinelli lost his bid for Governor, Jim Demint quit to run the Heritage Foundation, Bob McDonnell was convicted on federal corruption charges, and don’t forget, John Kasich ran that year by saying, “I was in the Tea Party before there was a Tea Party.” Joe Walsh, Tommy Thompson, Allen West - all got beat. And then the darling of ‘em all: Scott Brown.

So, who’s that leave, Ted Cruz? I’m having trouble remembering his small government successes. Rand Paul, who I will say is trying, but has been ineffective. We got some great Governors out of the deal like Scott Walker, but we all saw how that worked when he tried running for President. Republican Governors are accomplishing far more reform than anyone at the federal level except for the current Potus.

Cain supporters for some reason have always been fresh meat for a scam. I’ve encountered these folks quite a number of times and they were always pushing some dubious scheme.

<< “ The strength of the Tea Party, grassroots with little or no formal structure, was also its weakness. “ >>

Maybe. But, it was also kind of a selling point. I think it grew like wildfire because it was what it was in the beginning. They had one central theme. Federal debt and out of control spending and taxation.

It died out the same moment it got organized. State groups called themselves “Tea Party” and began organizing with little presidents and treasurers running around everywhere, and then political characters started making guest appearances, clearly wanting association credits for doing so. You know what I mean.
