The slip in NBC's ratings have caused tension at the network and even Lester Holt's position at NBC Nightly News is reportedly in jeopardy.
ABC's World News Tonight with David Muir passed Holt in overall audience during the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, causing some top NBC executives to sweat.
Sources told PageSix that if Holt's stats were ever to get the point that the network needed to make a change in the anchor's chair, NBC would be in a major bind.

Worst coverage of an Olympics I’ve ever seen. It is more or less coverage directed at the globalists. It’s hard to tell who the Americans are and the medal count is downplayed. I like Tariko though. He’s a class act.

It’s sad ‘cause I used to like the winter Olympics. But if they are going to trash their own beautiful country, I’m not watching.
It seems like many of the athletes and announcers are condescending, spoiled brats. At least the ones covered the most are. Maybe that is who we have become as a nation.
When the woman who is the figure skating commentator is more “bitchy” than her partner the Johnny Wierdo guy, you know you can’t watch more than 10 minutes with the sound on.
I resent NBC having that freak, Johnny Wierd in my face. They are preoccupied with homosexuality and I’m sick of it.

This is really horrible. I used to love the ice skaters. I got totally into it during the Torvill & Dean years. To see it go decadent like everything else in America, is shameful.
I turned on once and it was an all queer suck up. Turned it back off.
They’re just now feeling “network tension”?! They’ve been losing viewers for years.
