Only the newer Blackberry devices are using Android. Yes. That is what I was wondering about. Does RIM just use a vanilla version of Android or do they modify it to be more secure or do they add on more security?

RIM will add their own added on security. What kind is anyone's guess. . . but bolted on security is still bolted on. That's different from built-in to the hardware.
