Unfortunately, a big chunk of the north side, where I grew up, has been overrun by the homos.

I grew up there until age 13, leaving in 1952. First near North Avenue and Cleveland Avenue, then on Wayne Avenue, within walking distance of Wrigley Field. The latter neighborhood has become gentrified, with the old single-family houses torn down for luxury condos. The old neighborhoods have been subject to successive waves of various ethnic and socio-economic groups.
