Yup.

I'm still surprised the racists(ahem) did it. Someone speculated yesterday that the only acceptable reason would be that she's pregnant. Replacing her with a Muslim is acceptable too.

I think NASA just bumped her from the crew. They didn’t kick her out of the astronaut corps. This could be something simple like she’s been exposed to a childhood disease. Remember the chickenpox scare that got the the command module pilot bumped from Apollo 13?

I will admit that the longer NASA refrains from making a fuller explanation the more likely that it is something else. They shouldn’t leave an astrounaut’s reputation hanging out there for something minor.

Probably health related. Charlie Duke caught the measles when he was slated for a mission; they put him back in the rotation for 16 which he made with the lunar rover.
