ESPN’s presentation of the epic College Football Playoff National Championship between Georgia and Alabama (Jan. 8 at 8 p.m.) delivered a massive 16.7 overnight on its Nielsen-rated networks (ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPNU) as part of its MegaCast production, up 9% from last season’s thrilling College Football Playoff National Championship on the same three Nielsen-rated networks. The ESPN-only presentation delivered a monster 16.0 overnight for the Crimson Tide’s overtime victory, up 8% from the ESPN-only presentation last season, a game which featured a dramatic, last minute touchdown to win the game.

It was the end of the football season; not the college football season but THE football season. I am not watching the thugs in the BLM/NFL now and won’t do do for the remainder of the season. They are dead to me.

Trump was there and it was an exciting game. The viewers weren’t disappointed.

"If not, then I find it pretty lame of them."

I thought it was smart. Keep politics out of sports.

If they had shown Trump, one of the commentators would have had to say something derogatory about him and ruined a wonderful football game for me. They didn't show any of the Trump opposition either. They got it right.

President Trump got some face time on camera. Other than that, I don’t believe he would have wanted to make it about him. That would have been a distraction.

Maybe if the Big 10 played a little better football?

I’m no Alabama fan but I respect Saban and his ability to coach his players in the fundamentals of good blocking, tackling, etc. They rarely beat themselves.

I watched and I’m not a college football fan. I found it more riveting than any of the four NFL playoff games this weekend.

An 8 team playoff would be MUCH better. Take all five Power Five champs automatically. (Lets nearly every major team control their own destiny. Want in? Win your conference!) After that, take the top NON-Power Five team. Finally, take 2 wild cards from the best two teams not yet in.

Still a bit subjective, but would have included a Big10 and Pac12 team this year, and UCF. Likely Wisconsin, too.

Every bad call benefited Alabama. What are the odds?

That crew should never be allowed to officiate another game.

Watched the game again. What a game! Bama defense is the beast. What a gut call to switch to backup QB! Epic comeback. Minus a last minute TD for Clemson last year, Bama would be back to back champs again. 5 of the last 9 champs ain’t bad though:)

The Yankees of the 50s and 0s ruined baseball.

The Boston Celtics of the 60s and 70s and the Los Angeles Lakers of the 80s ruined pro basketball.

The New England Patriots are ruining pro football.

Now Alabama is ruining college football.

Sad.

In last night’s game it was obvious that the officials wanted Alabama to win the game. Too many missed calls. That simply can’t be an accident.

You mean maybe if the Big10 never split from ABC/ESPN then they’d have the backing of the decision makers.

You do know ESPN and the SEC are a partnership, right?
