The real reason species go extinct isn't climate change, it's Republican presidents. The last saber tooth tiger was actually killed by Richard Nixon using a set of brass knuckles.

The problem is gestation.
Mammoths and other mammals that have host species still alive have a far better chance of being resurrected.

They call it a mammal in the headline and several times in the article where they also call it a marsupial.

Evidently the author/editor believes “mammal” and “marsupial” are synonyms.
