If Coral really dies, this makes no sense.
The whole story revolves around him and he is the one who is telling it, as an old man.
Stupid plot change.
I wonder if they’re not giving him a couple years off, so to speak, for the college gig.
The series has already been renewed for several more seasons so it’s possible he might ‘shockingly return’, in the future.

Of all the ones I like [Michonne, who I adore and Ezekiel, who is doomed] the one that would stop me watching is Daryl.
Ironic that Coral winds up dead for the sake of the Muzzie.

Just now seguing into Talking Dead. That show reminded me of my grandfather watching “Looking for Mr. Goodbar” on TV with my family, 1980 something:

If Carl is leaving, good. That kid has always been a huge brat and PITA.
I see definite shark jumping. Why didn’t they just shoot the bad guys at the beginning of the season? So our heroes were finally on top, now it’s the saviors again. Whaaaaat? It’s not making sense anymore, or even trying. It’s had a nice run.
I’m not sure that the death of any particular character would stop me watching. It is the apocalypse after all. Death is gonna happen.
What would have stopped me from watching is if they had made Daryl gay. There was some talk of this several season back when gay was all the rage.
That would have made me furiously angry RAWR!
As far as Coral dying... why do I get the feeling that this is a curve ball and he isn’t going to die?
What makes me think that he could die is that the actor needs time off the show for school or things of that nature.
But I don’t know, I’m suspicious of that bite and its eventual effect.
Carl is not the same Carl as the books.
He’s a mercenary little cold blooded badass.
As soon as he went off on his soft heart “SJW Save Sadiq” path, I ceased to care about him.
The opening scene with his warm, fuzzy strawberry picking soliloquy sealed it for me.
As it faded to the opening theme, I simply said “Dumbass”.
Daryl lives.
He, alone, gets it.

I don’t buy it, either.
This reeks of the Jon Snow Is Dead cliffhanger from GOT.
Kit swore he was dead and not coming back.
Never believed it for a second.
You simply cannot kill off the pivotal character.
Addendum: Unless and until I see Coral turn into a Walker and somebody pokes a hole in his skull, not buying it.
`Coral’? Does Carl die a virgin? The closest I ever saw him get to tapping Enid was rubbing bellies in that hollow tree.
I didn’t see the whole show or read the comics, but yeah Carl’s `I heart muslims’ schtick was weak; at the same time, he had some good advice for his pappy Rick, as did Shane.
Beth almost corrupted Daryl, but he managed to stay salty. And a virgin.
He’s going to Auburn in the fall. He’s been posting about going to Auburn.
He’s done with his contract.
He wants to be a normal kid. He’s not even going to a fancy college. Auburn isn’t a SJW type of college.
No, now he’s *not*.
He’s “taking a year off” to piddle around.

A year off for Coral, another time jump, Negan’s in lockup and The Whisperers arc gets going.
As I said, until Coral turns and somebody puts a spike through his skull, not betting on anything.
On GOT, The Hound was gone for two seasons, presumed dead.
And then he’s back.
Kirkman has been hanging out with Martin, I think.
TWD is jerking us around.
