RUSH: Lets take a brief time-out. Its Open Line Friday. Well get started on the phones. (interruption) Yes, Im gonna get (interruption) Okay. (interruption) They keep pressuring me here about Lindsey Vonn. What is it about Lindsey Vonn thats got you so fascinated in there? (interruption) Tigers ex? Is that what it is? (interruption) All right. Heres the story. Grab audio sound bite number 19. By the way, when I see Lindsey Vonn, you know who she looks like? (interruption) Well, now everybodys eyes perk up in there. Theres an actress out there that used to be on a TV show called Law & Order, and her name is Elisabeth Rohm.
Im telling you Lindsey Vonn, facially (I dont know much else), is a dead ringer. Its uncanny. It doesnt mean anything. Its just Im just illustrating my observational prowess. Anyway, skier Lindsey Vonn is in St. Moritz, Switzerland, where she spoke passionately about what it means to compete for the U.S. ski team. Well I hope to represent the people of the United States, not the president, Vonn told CNNs Alpine Edge. CNNs Alpine Edge? Does CNN have a ? Is that somebodys name or is that a show? Maybe CNN has its own lodge?
Have you ever heard any Olympic athlete in the past ever claiming they didnt represent the president? Does Ms. Vonn realize half the people in America voted for Trump? Probably not, doesnt care. Shes 33 and getting ready for the final act, it says. Their words. The 33-year-old Vonn is getting ready for the final act of a long and illustrious career. Well, maybe act is right. You know, the fling with Tiger didnt get her a movie deal. (interruption)
No, no, no. I dont know that that was the objective. She didnt get a movie deal. They broke up, and the rumors were because he was catting around. Away from the slopes, Vonn also appears willing to put her head above the parapet and speak out about U.S. politics. I take the Olympics very seriously and what they mean and what they represent, what walking under our flag means in the opening ceremony, she added. I want to represent our country well. I dont think that there are a lot of people currently in our government that do that.
And Vonn revealed she wouldnt accept an invitation to the White House if she were to win gold at Pyeongchang. Absolutely not, said Vonn. No. But I have to win to be invited. No actually I think every U.S. team member is invited so no I wont go. And heres the audio. This is from CNNs website, Christina Macfarlane speaking with Lindsey Vonn. You previously competed in three Olympics under two presidents. How will it feel competing in an Olympics for the United States whose president is Trump?
VONN: Ummmmm (haltingly) Well, I hope to represent the people of the United States, not the president. You know, I want to represent our country well, and I dont think there are a lot of people currently in our government that do that.
MACFARLANE: Would you accept an invitation to the White House if you were to win Olympic gold in Pyeongchang?
VONN: Absolutely not.
RUSH: Absolutely not. No doubt about it, absolutely. Doesnt think there are a lot of people currently in our government who are representing the United States well.
Lindsey Yawn will be competing for the Republic of (Yawn) Nowhere.
I wonder how many Americans are going to say “Oh no” when she takes a fall and wins N-O-T-H-I-N-G.
She already won the lust of serial luster Tiger, who probably didn’t invite her to his romps in the penthouse of Las Vegas hotels.
I guess she wants to follow in the footsteps of Stephen Curry who has probably lost half of his fans by playing the I Hate Trump card and refusing to go to the White House after the team won the NBA finals.
Golden State is now Olden State in my book, and Lindsey probably brought down the whole U.S. winter olympic team with her publicity stunt. How does she figure that will up the viewership of the Olympics.
What’s the term Tony Sotamayor use....”mud shark” is it?
Talk about shooting yourself in the foot; torquing off 1/2, or more, of your fans & possibly losing endorsements.
Let’s see, if any fallout, if she has the power of her convictions to tough it out, or will she go crying to the cameras/populace ala K. Griffin.
I will be checking in for a reply as well. Seem like the response will be informative AND colorful.
She looks like one of my favorite actresses from the older days, Kim Novak.
Oh wait a minute, there is one in Facebook.
Neither have I.
You forgot that 228,000 jobs were added in November. More than expected.
Hmm, I have never heard or read about that. Not saying it is’t true that he did.
Did you ever see her nudes?
Let’s just say her ham slices dangled halfway to her knees.
So she looks like Elisabeth Rohm, better than Ernst Rohm I guess, but no big deal.
Stenmark is a good case in point. He's certainly a legend, but I don't think he's even among the top 10 male alpine skiers. In addition to simply having a longer career than most, he was a lot like Alberto Tomba in that didn't even compete in the speed events for most of his career.
The best male alpine skier of all time was Pirmin Zurbriggen -- hands down. He "only" had 40 World Cup victories, but he won four overall World Cup titles and competed in all of the alpine disciplines. At the age of 21 he became the first man ever to win races in all of the disciplines, and his career numbers aren't as high as some others because he was only 27 years old when he retired after winning his fourth overall title.
Tiger proves that her assessment of men is lacking.
I would disagree......on his 10 years on the tour he only won 4 overall titles with the slalom never being one of his victories.
Marc Girardelli on the other hand won 5 overall titles, which included Slalom, Giant Slalom and the Downhill..........
As far as tour victories, Girardelli won 3 Downhill, 9 Super G's, 7 Giant Slaloms, 16 Slaloms and 11 combined victories.
As they say in celebrityville, break leg, Lindsey.
