I don’t disagree with your premise.
However, I don’t disagree with the translation of the KJV into the NKJV, dropping the Thees and Thous etc. Personally, I have no problem with the Thees, Thous, and Lead us nots....
The Protestant Reformation began for 2 main reasons: the corruption of the Middle Ages Catholic Church, and the inability of the average Christian to read God’s Word for themselves in their native languages. Many Christians were cruelly martyred bringing the Word to the average man.
I’m all for any change that makes Gods Word more accessible and understandable. Francis’ proposal would do that, therefore I don’t object. However, I’m fine with leaving it alone too :)
