I guess you can always turn off GPS and turn it on just when you need it. But if everybody did that then the traffic option in your map app wouldn’t be that useful.
I still have some old mercury amalgam fillings that I highly distrust. Someday I plan to change them out for non-radio materials.

Actually, the only thing that needs to be disabled is the Klystron (microwave generating) tube, and there you have it, a Faraday Cage for hand held communication devices, including cell phones. As long as it is plugged in, the unit is grounded through the three prong A.C. plug and everything inside the disabled microwave is protected from EMP.
Every cell phone is a “tracking device”. That’s how it’s possible to receive calls as you move around. The cell towers know where your phone is so calls can be properly routed to you.

We already know, courtesy of Mr. Snowden, that they can remotely turn on your cell phone’s microphone to spy on you without you knowing it.
It’s not feasible for them to do that in a blanket fashion to all cell phones, but they can do that for targeted surveillance.
I can’t take credit, I just was interested in verification. Storage for a solar battery charger, rechargeables, ham radio, walkie talkies, etc. Maybe a starter, alternator, coil, etc. for the Universal Jeep ... in case the bell rings.

From what I can tell, that antenna is a potential gateway into the phone, if the battery is plugged in. I would assume if NSA wanted in, they have a backdoor so all they need to do is get close, and they have access to the phone and its contents, which is probably what the guy in the video is talking about.
As a general rule, the only people who actually know how that world works will never comment on these threads. Anybody outside that world, even engineers, really can’t answer intelligently, because they have no idea what is going on.
As for the battery itself being a threat, I would assume it depends on whether you are a target to start with. If you are not, then probably not.
If you are already a target, then you have to assume anything you get shipped to you can do anything. Swapping out a factory battery for one with a little less lifespan and anything they want installed is not an issue. For that matter, neither is customizing your phone’s programming before it gets to you with backdoors and call outs. In that case, if you were given a custom battery, pulling the battery on your phone is not going to do anything, unless it is wrapped in a faraday type enclosure. But by then they have you fifty other ways as well, so you are shoveling shit against the tide from the start.
For various reasons in this bizarre world, if you are doing crime, I would actually assume you are not going to see this type of intrusion, since you may have lawyers, and investigations, and eventually be in court. I tend to think the guy on the vid is just seeking clicks, but you never know.
If you know you have problems and can’t see a reason though, then you very well may see all sorts of shit, and should assume as much.
