(CNN) Civil rights activist the Rev. Jesse Jackson said Friday that he has been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. A neurological disorder with no cure, Parkinson's can cause tremors, stiffness and difficulty balancing, walking and coordinating movement.
"My family and I began to notice changes about three years ago," Jackson wrote in a statement. "After a battery of tests, my physicians identified the issue as Parkinson's disease, a disease that bested my father."
Jackson added that "recognition of the effects of this disease on me has been painful."
He also said he sees his diagnosis as "a signal that I must make lifestyle changes and dedicate myself to physical therapy in hopes of slowing the disease's progression."

I have nothing good to say and I don’t wish him well
Why do they still address him as Rev. ?
Most I know are preaching the gospel.
Stay out Da . . .
Stay out Da . . .
Stay out Da . . .
Sorry, can’t finish the thought.
Shakedown: Exposing the Real Jesse Jackson
by Kenneth R. Timmerman
The ravages of Parkinsonism, which mimics many of the symptoms of Parkinson’s Disease, took down my father in a horrible way. I would not wish PD on anyone, even a corrupt, lying, race baiting, poverty pump such as Jesse Jackson.
I’ll say this: The man can give a speech. His 1984 Dem convention speech was blistering.
pump = pimp
He has had STUPID all his life.
Does this announcement have anything to do with the recent accusations of sexual harassment?
Amen. His party did real good that year.
They say that as if it means something good.
He has done immeasurable damage to this country and is an abomination to the legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr. He is a sleezy hypocrite who doesn’t deserve the title of Reverend. However I wish him well. He needs God. Maybe he’ll repent.
Double untouchable.
Certainly. You can't accuse a black fake minister with Parkinson's doncha'know..
Parkison’s disease is awful, and it is relatively common. There has been more than one case of Parkinson’s disease in my family. It is not too bad in the early stages, but it keeps progressing. The medication has awful side affects too. Pray for a cure.
How can they tell? Reduced cognitive function? The testing would have to be really precise.
I wondered why his mug hasn’t been in front of a news camera on a weekly basis.
The Race Card never expires. But Racists do.
Hmmm - I wonder if this is coming out now because he’s a target. Could it be that he’s worried about being added to the Democrat War Against Women List?
