A father serving a life sentence for beating his 2-day-old baby to death was found dead in his U.K. prison cell Sunday and another prisoner has been charged in his death, The Yorkshire Evening Post reported.
Liam Deane, 22, who punched, shook and squeezed his 2-day-old daughter to death last July, was found dead in his prison cell at HMP Leeds on Sunday, the report said.
Deane admitted to killing his 2-day-old daughter, Luna, in July after the baby would not stop crying. He was handed a life sentence last month and would serve a minimum 10 years.

And one wonders why liberal judicial systems are considered a joke. (UK, here, wherever)
What part of “life sentence” is not clear?
Why use the term?
That’s almost like the old saw stating that our senate is the “greatest deliberative body”. Body yes, a putrid stinking body.

A society is in bad shape when it depends on its criminals to dispense the justice that should have been delivered by the courts.
He was sentenced to life, and he served that sentence to the letter. So what’s the problem?
That evil man got the promised life sentence. I’m okay with that. I hope his killer gets justice - perhaps a carton of cigarettes or extra desert for the month.
He was lucky...he served much less than 10 years.
It stinks on ice that we have to hope that other convicts will take care of issues that our society is too gutless to deal with.
Gee that’s too bad.
Sadly, that is too long for a tagline.
It seems a shame about the other prisoner, Westland, who will doubtless get a number of years added to his sentence.
