Hard for me to believe they’ll still be on the team after robbing 3 different stores. They had time to think, so it wasn’t just a spur of the moment thing.

As a long-ago student of Mandarin, let me present what will be their argument before the Chinese court:
Women bu hui zuo zhemma tao yuan de shr ching!
我們不能這樣做這種殘忍的事

That’s about what I would expect. And I also saw a family member interviewed brush it off as no big thang. The Ball family, no doubt.

And if Trump does end up helping them, they’ll be thankless and entitled as if they deserved it. Probably even bash him, once they were safely home. (”Whitey woulda got out sooner!”)

The Chinese have every right to throw their worthless butts in prison over this... Xi is extending kindness by allowing our worthless criminal justice system to slap their wrists.

In our town with a minuscule black population, a black organized crime ring swooped in from out of town (Detroit and Memphis I think) and 3 black guys did a smash and grab Rolex robbery at a jewelry store...ONLY the Rolexes. But it wasn't at night, they got buzzed in by staff. Can you imagine if a jewelry store staff refused to let in 3 black guys on grounds it was suspicious (for our town) - then they could sue instead of stealing Rolexes!
I think at least 2 of them were caught though. Too bad it wasn't in China!

I think the NFL needs to schedule more games in China.

Thanks.
I will never understand society and how we take these “talented” people and turn them into reality “stars”. That’s why Daddy Ball thinks it isn’t a big deal. Sorry Dad, but being a basketball player and a reality TV star doesn’t impress foreign judicial systems. (usually)

This commissioner person is more concerned that the ‘incident’ distracts from the game. Just a little kerfuffle, don’t dare call it what it is..STEALING..
“I’m certainly disappointed that we don’t have three UCLA students here to compete in the game today, given that they were involved in an incident that’s being investigated in Hangzhou,” Pac-12 commissioner Larry Scott said Saturday before the game. “It has provided a real distraction and unwanted publicity, which distracts from what overall has been a tremendous experience and a tremendous week for the UCLA and Georgia Tech students. It has also highlighted the value of our partnership. We’ve received tremendous support from our partners at FUSC [Federation of University Sports of China] and Alibaba. We’ve had a chance to apologize for the unwelcome attention it has brought.
