In the early to mid 1950s,in Phoenix,AZ.,my Dad was drinking buddies with Marty Robbins. My Pop also was friends with Ira Hays and would often talk about their drinking,poker games together.

I remember my grandparents telling me that they saw Marty Robbins sing at a local (east Texas) high school auditorium sometime in the 1950’s or early 1960’s.
I’ve been taking guitar lessons and one of the songs that I’m having fun learning is his “Strawberry Roan”.
