Did Megyn Kelly Make a Mistake Leaving Fox News for NBC?
via Real Clear Life ^ | 10-30-2017 | Rebecca Gibian

Last year, Megyn Kelly was doing very well for herself. Her nightly show on Fox News, The Kelly File, had briefly unseated The O’Reilly Factor at the top of the ratings, and she was slowly becoming more popular with both conservatives and liberals alike.

But The Guardian writes that Kelly was not happy, so she went to NBC, where she was offered an $18 million a year contract to host a morning show. The Guardian writes that NBC most likely thought Kelly had a “rare crossover appeal: one part soccer mom to one part school principal.”

But then her show was canceled two episodes before its finale, and the network seemed to have higher hopes for Kelly on a morning program. Megyn Kelly Today kicked off last month, with Kelly saying, “I’m kind of done with politics for now.” The Guardian writes that it is a “profound misuse of her talents,” and questions why NBC thought it would be a good fit.

(snip)

The Guardian writes that Kelly also does not do warmth and jubilance, like Katie Couric or Kelly Ripa.

........

The Guardian writes that Megyn Kelly Today is evidence that morning TV is not her true calling, no matter how “sick and tired of politics” she claims to be.

The one thing I remember Katie Couric about is her absolutely FAKE perkiness.

Couldn’t take that fakeness and perkiness in the morning, so I never watch her after just one or two ‘episodes’.

I’ve wondered how those other women can warm up to her, well, guess I will never know.

Look, the debate debacle was cooked up amongst all three of them ‘moderators’ (Baier, Wallace, and Kelly).

But Kelly took the staring role, thinking it’s her one big chance to shine. And the rest is history......

She should think about a different profession. She dresses like a hooker sometimes.

Megyn, I think, knew it was time for her to ‘move on’. Pity the NBC executives/head honchos to land the hot potato.

What gets me is that everyone on FR knew it was a bad move for NBC to hire Kelly.

NBC went ahead away and gave her 30 million dollars.

Pretty obvious that the people running TV networks, movie studios and other media outlets have no common sense at all.

Actually the best thing to do would have been quit while she was ahead.

Yep, her mistake was trying to take down Trump. Everything after that is the consequences...

NBC management were the morons for hiring her...

I couldn’t stand her afternoon show on Fox, where she first had her own show after her “Kelly File” segments on O’Reilly’s show. It was the all Megyn all day show and more like a variety show or something. Then when she moved to night time she wasn’t half bad, still some narcissistic parts. Then whichever election it was, she was elevated and put with Bret Baier for election coverage. I always thought he probably didn’t appreciate having to share covering elections with her..and that’s when it seemed it all went straight to her self-absorbed head. She wasn’t worthy to sit with Bret Baier, IMO. After her Trump attack, yes, she is getting her just desserts now.

For Kelly, yes, she did make a mistake leaving FOX for
NBC.

But, believe it or not, I watched while Megyn committed
a rooky blunder while interviewing asshole Jane Fonda
and it was funny as hell. She stupidly asked Fonda
about her plastic surgery. Only a fool would ask such
a question of a woman in Fonda’s generation. Few
women at Fonda’s age like to broadcast that her looks
are anything but natural. Yet there is Megyn Kelly
putting it right in Fonda’s face and Jane’s terse
response was predictable. I know how she felt. If
I wore a rare good looking toupee at a public function
the last thing I would want to hear is some
acquaintance blurting out how nice I look in my wig.
For most, tho not all people, things like plastic
surgery are done to hide your reality, not to give
others a conversation topic. At this stage in her
career Megyn Kelly showed why she is an idiot.

She could have survived at Fox with lower ratings than previously. She had no chance period on any liberal network which is all of the besides fox

The Left already hated her for being on Fox.
Her big debate appearance where she overdressed and wore 2” fake lashes, then did this to Trump, cemented the hatred of the Right.
She’s in the unique position of alienating more people than Hillary Clinton. Hillary at least, still has a wide swath of the Left.

But she can buy a lot of fake lashes with that cash...
